In IPB 3.x it was possible to set up a custom permission set and assign it to a member to restrict access to a specific board without having to create a whole new member group solely for that one user.

In IPB 4.x however (unless I'm just not seeing it) the custom permission sets seem to be gone, so how do I do this now ?

Unfortunately, you will need to create a custom group with the permissions you want for this purpose 

But it doesn't work as a secondary group.  The primary group permissions always govern.  That's why we used overriding permission masks previously.

I would love it if you did - I use it on my 3.4.9 forum, and my mods will miss this when we go to 4.1.x...
