Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 22, 201212 yr I think there should be an option to exclude them from showing up on the birthday list on the sidebar. Does anyone know how to do that with 3.3.4?
November 24, 201212 yr There's a birthday list in the sidebar? Yes there is, but i think there is a setting which you can set to hide if no birthdays, also you need calendar do be installed
November 24, 201212 yr Sometimes those banned members may be still friends or liked by the community and staff.
November 24, 201212 yr That doesn't mean there shouldn't be an option to choose whether their names show up or not. Many might be spammers or trolls no one wants to remember. And its a case of what the license owner wants, if people want an option it should be considered regardless of anything else.
November 24, 201212 yr Not sure if this will happen with 3.4.0 as I remember reading that if you flag a member as a spammer it deletes there post(s) so maybe it will remove there birthday from the calendar too?
November 24, 201212 yr Actually IPS removes banned members from the member list and also doesn't allow clicking on their profile. I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it from the birthday list.
November 25, 201212 yr Actually IPS removes banned members from the member list and also doesn't allow clicking on their profile. I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it from the birthday list. Yeah thats what i thought but i have not tested! EDIT: Just tested on 3.3.4 and it dont not remove the member from the side birthday bar!
January 2, 201312 yr Just as a side note, if you use this hook You can set the groups to exclude from its side bar list
January 2, 201312 yr Just as a side note, if you use this hook You can set the groups to exclude from its side bar list Thanks a lot - that's funny because I am using this one but not the sidebar list :( I think I have to change it ..... :)
January 13, 201312 yr On 3.4.X it removes the banned members (using option BAN MEMBER - flag on his admin profile) but still shows members in BANNED group. I'll try a hook later.
