Table of Contents for articles in v5?

Featured Replies

I have articles with custom-made tables of contents in v4, using HTML anchors to my h2 tags titles in the article.

If v5 no longer supports HTML editing, how can I create tables of contents, or anchor tags?

Thanks!

This is what I have in v4 that I would like to reproduce in v5.

There is a customisable widget for it now, which is a good idea in theory. You just drag it onto the page and it can read your headlines and you can make changes. I never got it to work properly with Pages databases though.

Thank you, just found it and tried it, it works for articles...

However, I hate how it has to have its own widget space?

On my site, the side bar is used for ads.

I could put it at the top but then it sits above the hero image and main article title, which does not work.

Okay, I give up. In the Page Editor the Table of Contents widget says exit the Page Editor to edit the Table of Contents.

Tbale of contents are built up of headers added to content. So you have to edit the page editor to edit the table of contents, as thats where you edit your content (to add or remove more header elements)

Got it. So, to edit the table of contents, I need to edit the page editor because that's where you edit the content. That's not confusing at all...

From what I can tell, there's nothing to edit or customize in the Table of Contents widget. It just automatically pulls your headers from your article, and creates a TOC from that.

Correct
