How to customize the "account created" email?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for how to adjust the "from" email address, the subject line, and the templated text inside the email that is sent to new members.

In our community, the only method we use to add members is:

  1. Administrator creates a new account in the admin area.

  2. The Administrator does not set a password on their behalf.

  3. The new member receives an email. They click on that email, which lets them set their password and then enter the forum.

This process works well, but I would like to modify the three components in the screenshot below, and I can't find where this is controlled.

The subject line and body text can be edited by editing your language pack. Search for the phrase and change it to whatever you want it to be instead. The "From" address has always been the same as every other email from the board at least for me.

Thank you very much, @Randy Calvert!

I found what you described in the language pack and that will do the trick.

Regarding the "from" email address, in our configuration this email is coming from [email protected]. Do you have SMTP set up in your system? I suspect I might need to do that.

That would be for all emails using our Cloud email system. You cannot change this unless your own SMTP service.

Thank you, @Jim M .

It is a bit confusing because the "Email Settings" page makes it seem like all emails will come from the address that is entered in the top box. [see green box]

What does this setting actually control?

But now I understand that the setting at the bottom actually controls outgoing emails. [see yellow box]

On Cloud, whatever that setting is set to will be used as the Reply-To email address. So, if someone tries to reply to an email sent from the community, it will be sent to that address instead of the noreply address.

Good morning, I have the same query as above but am not sure where I find the 'language pack' to alter the phrase in the body of the email.

Please could you advise?

Thanks

They are within your normal language pack. There isnt a separate one for email :)

Thanks Mark, but I can't find any language pack - what area of the dashboard is it within?

Thankyou
