An advertiser wanted to use webp asset is this on the roadmap for support? 

If your server has the relevant support for WebP (either in GD or ImageMagick) the upload field will accept them.

I looked at phpinfo and it is enabled but when I tried to upload it

it even fails on Alpha, and even attaching here.

Doesn't seem we have webp enabled on Cloud so that is expected.
