Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted January 25, 201212 yr Title pretty much says it all. I'd like to be able to make certain custom profile fields available only to specific member groups. I'm not sure how much interest there is for such a feature, but I figure I'd put it out there.
March 12, 201212 yr This addition to the profile fields feature would certainly be great for large forums who host lots of individual sub-communities. I'm definitely for it!
March 30, 201212 yr Author To explain further, I would personally use such a feature to build a community where there are distinct types of users. For example, the community might provide a place to connect buyers and sellers of a specific type of good or service. The sellers might have full profiles and examples of work, while the buyers would have no need for such a detailed profile. It would be useful in any case where there are distinct types of users with different profile needs.JomSocial is an example of software that includes this feature, but I would love to be able to switch from Joomla/JomSocial to Invision Power, which otherwise has much more robust community features.
August 29, 201212 yr this is good proposal, for me this should also make possibility to block certain fields from being filled if member is not in choosen group.
