I don't understand. v5 was presented to have major speed improvements which is big for us all. Here people share actual data and a more comprehensive explanation, reply other than "It really didn't" would certainly help here.

Marc, no. That we can do in v4 too. I mean using the rest api to upload to pages media. I can access, upload, create folders using the web interface through this url domain.com/admin/?app=cms&module=pages&controller=media but in v4 I don't know a way to upload anything there using the rest api. So, I am hopping this is fixed in v5.

Will it be possible in v5 to upload images to pages media files via REST? This was not possible in v4 and I hope it was addressed in v5. At the moment the media feature is largely useless to me without ability to use the uploaded files in pages. Thank you.

Marc, I also like some of the changes. But related content is simply a basic functionality and needs to be addressed.

can we use php in this widgets created with an app? Is there some sort of documentation on this? Please reconsider your related content widget practicality. It needs to have decent presentation and filtering options at least for basic things like content areas and categories. I see a lot of big words thrown here in reference to v5 being new vision, big vision... Let's start by implementing some basic functionality before screaming big vision.

Can anyone recommend a solution for this very serous invision issue of not being able pull and present related content from related articles based on database records? I whole thing was really bad in v4 so I had to hand code and create php blocks to do this. Now, instead of coming up with a solution they remove php blocks too.

That will seriously not be sufficient for me and I am sure many others. I think it pulls content from different areas and we might need to restrict related content to specific content types and categories. This is a basic functionality and needs to be addressed especially if the php blocks are getting deactivated so we can't do this even manually.

Also, will a database/article page be able to show related content based on the category of the current database record being viewed or some other setting? AT the moment I use php blocks to achieve this but I understand php blocks will not be supported in v5.

Will there be a way and place where we can see all the reports by and for a given user. This is essential to see patterns before making a decision.
