How To Embed Cloudflare Stream Video In v5?

Featured Replies

Hi, I usually copy embed code from Cloudflare Stream after I upload a video to it, then paste that code into the source of my v4 articles.

Question: How can I embed Cloudflare Stream videos in v5, if we can't access the source of an article?

I've been trying to get this to work since Saturday and can't get it.

My Cloudflare Stream embed code, supplied by Cloudflare is the following:

<div style="position: relative; padding-top: 56.25%;">
  <iframe
    src="https://customer-a6xme84ty6sq5jeb.cloudflarestream.com/cdbc0d7653b029c4f66eae080f659e4b/iframe?poster=https%3A%2F%2Fcustomer-a6xme84ty6sq5jeb.cloudflarestream.com%2Fcdbc0d7653b029c4f66eae080f659e4b%2Fthumbnails%2Fthumbnail.jpg%3Ftime%3D%26height%3D600"
    loading="lazy"
    style="border: none; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; height: 100%; width: 100%;"
    allow="accelerometer; gyroscope; autoplay; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture;"
    allowfullscreen="true"
  ></iframe>
</div>

I've tried many iterations of that URL and I've allowed the URL in Embeds (see below), but nothing works.

Any ideas on how to get this to work? I prefer to host my own videos, avoiding YouTube and the other the giants like the plague.

When I paste the entire video URL, my browser can see it. I do limit the domains that can embed the videos, but when that kicks in, there's at least a message.

When I paste the URL into a pages article, it turns it into a link automatically, rather than embed it.

Does your user has authorization to post embeds?

I'm logged in as Admin and have given myself all authorizations I can find. It works with YouTube just fine as a test.

You will need to check if you have permissions to "Can Convert Links to iframes" in ACP -> System -> Posting & Editor -> Editor Permissions.

Then you would need to ensure your member group has the correct " Editor Permission Level" to match that.

This is what I have set.

THat should be sufficient. Is this the only group you're in?

Yeah, I double checked. I’m only in the admin group.

Continuing to work on this. I found what Cloudflare calls the video link for the video. Same result when I paste it into my articles. I even adjusted allowed domains to any, for this video in Cloudflare Stream config

You need to add using the link button in the editor

Just using a facebook link just to show the example.

OK, now I'm getting somewhere. Thank you!

The video embeds now. I just need to figure out the sizing of it. With CLoudflare Stream embed code, the sizing works automatic. With this link insertion, the size is set to auto, but the size ends up being strange.

Seems like we should be allowed to use a percentage rather than fixed px value for this.

OK, I adjusted the maximum embedded content and media settings. Not sure if that was what really helped. Then I resized the videos and they see to work.

The resized one is the larger one and trhe standard, right after embedding and without resizing, is the bottom one.

Hi Guys, now that my site is moved, I'm embedding video and running into an issue with "Allowed Origins." In the Cloudflare Stream settings I restrict videos to only streaming on my site. Cloudflare charges by the minute, so I don't want to pay for other sites to show the video.

I've always just used my domain as the origin and it works great. Now, I just embedded a video and it showing me a 403 forbidden error.

Question: Do I need to use a different origin domain?

My old embedded videos are working fine, but I used the full embed code to get them on the site. Now, I use the URL method.

I figured it out.

Rather than putting in the exact URL of the video, that Cloudflare supplies, I had to put in the full URL used in the embed code.

Glad to see you managed to get things sorted.

In case anyone else wants more details here they are.

Cloudflare Stream provides a URL to the videos. Don't use this URL. It's end in /watch

Look in the Embed details of each video and copy the super long string with thumbnail etc... in it, and paste that in to the LINK and it's work great.
