Bulk Mail / Newsletter Guide?

Featured Replies

Just taking a look a the bulk mail tool as I have been too chicken to use it in the past. Is there (are there) any guides to do's and don'ts of assembling bulk mail messages so they look right and aren't broken when delivered?

I think the last time (years ago) my test message looked swell in the preview but none of the embedded topics appeared in the sent mail. Looking at it now I see some cool "you might be interested in ..." topics are appended in a pleasing and useful way. Do I have control over what shows there? Where do I learn how?

Speaking of which, I sent myself a sample message and note a Guest was apparently busy in 1969 featuring content that wouldn't be posted until 56 years later 🤣

The only guide we have for the Bulk Mail feature can be found here: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/promotion/email-options-r24/

Believe in version 5, most of those issues have been worked out with embedded internal links and they should be converted when you send to just plain links.

Regarding, testing what you're sending out, that is always good practice for any bulk tool. Especially if you want something to look a particular way or just in general a good practice seeing bugs do happen even in the best software at the oddest of times🤣. You can do a test send to your admin group or whatever filter you want prior to sending out the real thing.

The links for "You might also be interested in..." are generated from your Featured posts. You can disable that completely for emails in ACP -> System -> Email Settings.

If the user who originally featured that content item has been deleted, it may display as a guest. If it is showing fine in your Featured page, please let us know and we can look into that.

Excellent, thank you.

The items were featured by me. I went in and un-featured then re-featured them and now they show as expected. I'll take that as my cue to be vigilant in proofing that area of content along with my personally introduced typos :)

He really is that good :D

Following this.

We have sent a couple bulk emails lately and I was wondering where I can find the results (opens, clicks, etc.) from those two campaigns?

Thank you,

Andrew

if you got to stats /email in the acp

you can hit the 'email clicks' section which may help give you a limited idea of how they are going
