I am needing to upgrade my website to a VPS. I am wondering about some basic questions.

Which OS seems to work the best with Invision paired with cPanel?

Is LightSpeed webserver recommended or not?

Cloudlinux + Litespeed + Imunify360 + WHM/cPanel is a nice setup

Lightspeed is not officially supported. While it works and several may successfully use it, officially only Apache is supported.

I find Cpanel costly and ancient fashion in looks and feel for my liking. For my IPS site, I now run a dedicated server with the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8700GE CPU, 64gb DDR5 ECC memory, and a 2 X 512gb NVMe SSD, AlmaLinux 9.5. I’m using the Webuzo panel, which includes their Backuply app at no extra cost, which does an every 5-hour incremental backup and once-per-day compressed backup to BackBlaze-B2. I’m running both the Nginx server and the Apache server. Nginx is the reverse proxy for Apache. With this, Nginx will serve all the static content, while Apache will process dynamic content. Nginx cache also activated, and Opsshield Cpguard with CSF for security. It’s a high-speed setup, and my site loads very quickly. My setup is overkill for IPS, but I like cars with powerful fast engines even though I don’t drive fast. NginX is much better than Apachie for IPS regarding speed, etc. Check out the Webuzo panel. It’s only $2.50 monthly for a VPS cloud and $5 monthly for a dedicated server licence. Nginx, Apache, Redis, Litespeed, or any apps that are needed can be installed directly in the Webuzo panel. No terminal command line is required.

IPS doesn’t officially support Nginx. However, my site is running very fast with that setup, and I can always switch back to solo Apache in the Webuzo panel if needs be.

Nginx vs Litespeed: I prefer Nginx.
