harry m Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hi, We've been having issues with Logging in to the forum recently. I'm Root Admin, and when I log in It takes me to the forum page as normal. When I click on Moderator CP , I often get the following ( Error code 2S194/1 ) So i have to log in again. If I go 'back' to the forums, I get the same again. Regards harry m
Marc Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Sorry, you say you have to log in again.. Are you then able to get to the moderator CP at that point? Its not clear what you mean on that Also, its worth noting, there is no such thing as root admin (there is only admin with all permissions or admin with limited permissions). Also administrator permissions dont give you permissions on the front end. Moderator permissions give you permissions on the front end (even if you have admin permission)
harry m Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 (edited) Hi Marc, To clarify, this issue is intermittent and doesn't happen all the time. 18 minutes ago, Marc said: Sorry, you say you have to log in again.. Are you then able to get to the moderator CP at that point? Its not clear what you mean on that Yes, i have to log in again, which lets me get to moderator CP, but when I click on the forums to go back from Mod CP , it throws that screen up again, and I have to log in again. I'm Administrator with full permissions ( we named the Admin group 'Root Admin' sorry for the confusion) I've never had this issue before. Ive always been able to go from forums to Mod CP then back again without having to log in a second time. The only time I have to log in a second time is for Admin CP. As an example last night, I had 5 items in the queue for approval. I usually open each item in a new tab ( so i can check the destination forum before approving them) . I had 5 tabs open where I had to log in on each tab one by one. Ive also noticed ( since this has been happening) that if i forget to log out of the forum on my home computer, I can't log in to it from my mobile phone when I'm out. Again, it always allowed me to do that, but not any more. It goes through the 'log in' motions, then loads on the forums page that non- members can see. Thanks harry m Edited December 4 by harry m corrected a typo
Marc Posted December 4 Posted December 4 When you see the message, are you showing as logged in on the top right?
harry m Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 So Yes, I logged in and my name shows at the top of the page, then, when I click on the arrow next to my name, then select 'ModeratorCP' from the sub menu under my name. ( same way as I have done for the last 5+ years) Then the page changes to Then I have to log in again and it shows my name and the ModCP page. When Ive finished in ModCP, if I select the forums home page, the page changes to 'The page you are trying to access.....' again.
Randy Calvert Posted December 4 Posted December 4 (edited) You have to give the admins permission to access moderator functions. Admins don’t automatically have the ability to moderate. Being an admin by default means you have access to the AdminCP, not the ModCP. You can add the admin group or individual users as moderators using the steps in the link above. Edited December 4 by Randy Calvert
harry m Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 The point remains that as an Admin, I have had access to moderate on all areas of the site for over 5+ years, entering ModCP or AdminCP via the sub menu under my name. Ive checked our 'Admin' group settings in Admin CP and our 'Admin' group setting is UNrestricted The current issue has never arisen before in at least the last 5 years. On a side note, When I have to log in the second time ( after selecting ModCP under my name ) if i don't have permission to moderate, why does it let me in anyway after I log in again? Moreover , why does it work 80-90% of the time and opens the Mod CP as normal for me ? As I said earlier on, this has only started happening recently and is an Intermittent thing that only happens 10% of the time. On a further point, we have 3 members in our Admin group, but neither of the others suffer this current issue.

I need to know what it says in the top right when you are on the "The page you are trying to access is not available" page, rather than the page before it. Trying to help you determine the issue
harry m Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 Marc, i don't currently have that info. As soon as it happens again, I'll get a full screen shot for you. Regards harry
harry m Posted December 4 Author Posted December 4 I tried it again tonight and it happened again. I was in Messages, clicked on the forum home page and got the ' Page is not available for your account' error as earlier. I logged back into the forum, went to messaging again, took a screen shot went to forum home page ,and can confirm that my name was still visible before the page changed and showed ' Page is not available for your account'. Screenshot below just before I clicked the forum home page link I then logged back in again, and haven't had any issue with it since. On reading Randy Calvert's post earlier in this thread, I added myself to Moderator group as a secondary group (Moderator group is Unrestricted as well as Admin group and covers ALL forums), but that doesn't of seemed to help the current issue. Thanks

Management Matt Posted December 6 Management Posted December 6 Hi Harry, I'm sorry to hear that you're having some problems with your community. In order to help us understand the problem better, can you let me know a few things please? 1) Your OS (Windows/Mac etc) 2) Your browser and version 3) If you choose 'remember me' when you log in 4) If these issues tend to occur for a short period of time and then do not reoccur for a few days. Thanks!
harry m Posted December 6 Author Posted December 6 Hi Matt, The OS is windows 10 Browser is Firefox v 127.0 (64bit) I do use 'remember me' all the time The issues are sporadic. Since I started this post it happens once or twice then nothing for maybe 24 hours some times. It usually occurs first thing in the mornings ( 09:00 UK time, about 02:00 US time). at this time, the computers been off 8 hours or more and have been logging out of the community when i shut down at night. Although I couldn't log in via my mobile phone whilst still logged in on a computer, for the past two days I have been able to. In the same two days, I haven't really had the original problem ' Page is not available for your account' either. This all came about since we had a problem loading pictures in the forum on Nov 12th, when someone from Invision's Cloud team had to intervene and rectify. In this topic here ( same community) - https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/480512-unable-to-upload-images/#comment-2982730 As it happens, I just tried again before posting this reply and It happened again. Here's a full screen shot, showing what I see after I change forums and its logged me out ( from ModCP or messages to Forum home page) My feelings are that the 'sign in' parameters have changed in the last update somehow. 'IF' your logged in on a computer, then at some point later then try to log in on another device ( moblile phone) It won't let you, regardless of how much time has passed between using a 2nd device On a phone, it tells you to log in, then you enter your details, but on a Samsung with Firefox it keeps cycling back to 'log in' without showing an error or the 'Page...... is not available for your account'. On a Computer , you can log in, but as soon as you change to another forum, you get the 'Page...... is not available for your account'. and the log in options. that said, it allowed me to be logged in on both continuously for the last 2 days.( as it did until the latest update as well) regards harry
harry m Posted December 7 Author Posted December 7 In addition to the above post, Whilst experimenting with the 'remember me' box when logging in. I decided to log out of the forum via profile and the sub menu. It allowed me to do it , then threw this screen up . As you can see, it must of logged me out as my name disappeared from the top right, but said 'something went wrong, please try again. I cant even post a reply to a topic now as it takes me to the ' Page is not available for your account' page. messages and notifications are not opening either, just the circle outline going round and round
harry m Posted December 9 Author Posted December 9 An update to the problems. On Saturday at 2pm UK time, I used a secondary account and logged in successfully and had no issues. I then logged in to A-CP , made the secondary account an Admin and logged out and back in as the secondary account name. (up until then , as my original user account , when i chose messages or notifications from the profile drop down menu, all i saw was the 'loading' circle rotating for several minutes and nothing else). Went into A-CP as the secondary account name, and under Member profile> Account actions, signed in as harry m ( original user name). I had no issue at all whilst in there, I tested all the features that I'd had issues with as harry m, and everything worked fine ! I signed out as harry m, then signed out of A-CP under my 2nd user name. Went back to log into the forum as harry m, and have had no issues what so ever all weekend. i don't know if one of your Techs has done anything, or if its pure timing that 2pm UK time would of been 8am ( ish) US time, or its mysteriously resolved itself ? I was also able to log in on a mobile phone whilst still logged in on a computer at the same time. Obviously if it starts again, ill come back to you. regards harry m Matt 1
Management Matt Posted December 9 Management Posted December 9 Thanks for the updates Harry. Let us know if anything changes. harry m 1
Marc Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Just a note on your OS and browser. I understand the issue seems to be resolved for you at the moment, but it might be worth looking at getting those updated. Not sure if you are aware, but windows 10 will no longer be supported at all by oct next year, even for security updates. Firefox 133 was released recently also, so there are quite a few bug fixes since the version you're on 🙂 harry m 1

harry m Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM Author Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM Although its not the overall solution to the original topic, I think I've found the issue why my mobile phone wouldn't connect. Its a Samsung that hadn't been re-booted for 5 days. Ive had similar issues with other 'apps' in the past and never gave it a thought it could be that with a web site. Re-booted and got straight in to our forum.
Marc Posted Friday at 08:31 AM Posted Friday at 08:31 AM Thank you for coming back to let us know what resolved your issue harry m 1
