Invision Community 5: A video walkthrough creating a custom theme and homepage By Matt Thursday at 04:02 PM
Dale Sheridan Posted September 30 Posted September 30 My adminCP is broken I get something went wrong error. Cant connect to chatroom. Been along time since I fired up my server. Changed my ISP and my SSL cert is expired. I installed with SSL activated. I run a Virtual Host redirected to port 443 and when I try to run index.php InvBoard wont load. If I turn off redirect and use port 80 it loads but stuffs broken. Is there a way to reconfigure my IP address without adminCP and give that a try first while I work on getting a Cert? On top of that my mail server is broken and cant receive an e-mail to verify my domain. I'm getting close to having that working. SeNioR- 1
Marc Posted September 30 Posted September 30 You mention this has not been switched on for a long time, and also mention chatroom there. We havent run chat for a very very long time, so that will not work. In terms of the site itself, do you know what version its on? You can chance an address used in the conf_global.php file. The site doesnt have any concern as to what IP that address is using (although the address itself may be an IP if doing something on local of course) SeNioR- 1
Dale Sheridan Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 Hi Marc I have version 4.18 That's a good start. There's no IP address in conf_global only base_url, Looks like it's my inability to start the site with SSL enabled. I also have an out of date theme error but cant restore the default without support tool in AdminCP. Template_core/front/global/updateWarning is throwing an error.this theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme. Thanks! Ill be working on getting a new cert.
Marc Posted September 30 Posted September 30 That would certainly be a good start if you are having issues. Also if you are on a later release of PHP, it may be you need to upgrade your site to the latest
Dale Sheridan Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 Those upgrades are a big issue with my server. When I built my current server some of the programs I run, will not run on later versions of PHP. I will create a test environment and run multiple versions of PHP with different apache instances. As I resurrect my classic server I will be building a new server. I started using oracle linux, as Redhat got greedy and Oracle didn't block my packagekit just because i'm not subscribed to a service contract. I will be using InvBoard regardless and it feels good to be back. Thanks for supporting everyone who loves InvBoard! Marc 1
