Doing an unannounced quick demo of Live Topics!

When creating a live event with video, what platforms are supported? (Zoom, Webex, Google video, Facebook live?)

What we do right now is live stream our Zoom sessions to YouTube Live. We then embed the YouTube Live link in our Live Topics here. You can use any video system but we currently only support YouTube for the automatic syncing timestamp in video.

Is there any plans to easily schedule live events? (Have it tied with the events system, RSVPs, reminders?)

Real easy to expand there

Already done! When you schedule a Live Topic you can have it auto-generate an associated Event option as well.

Can you control who can ask questions or who can answer questions?

Can you control who can ask questions or who can answer questions?

Anyone can ask a question in chat that a moderator can "convert" from chat to a question. There are settings to define if people can directly-post questions and if a moderator has to approve those or not.

Why would someone ask a question versus just type it into the chat?

Why would someone ask a question versus just type it into the chat?

Either way works but chat is more fluid so sometimes good questions or thoughts come up in conversation. We can to be able to capture those.

Why would someone ask a question versus just type it into the chat?

After it's over, all the questions and replies get converted into a permanent topic.

If you are reading this and not in the Live Topic... it's the topic that was generated :)

Is there some sort of way to flag which posts were questions vs which were just chat?

Look in top right of this view 🙂

Replying to a question I asked on who can ask questions.

When you click on a question in the sidebar...

Could contain: Accessories, Gemstone, Jewelry, Text

It filters the display to just that question and answers to it, but it does not set the reply to automatically be to the question.  It instead is a generic comment.

Currently chat is not converted into posts or anything, but the data is preserved in the database so you can expect a transcript in a very early update. Hope that answers your question 🙂

Good catch.

I'm quoting a question I asked earlier...  but it is also not catching that it is a question and linking it to the question.
