Add "Latest Post" Modul to this Forum

Hi,

We can see Recent Topics but not "Recent Entries" or "Recent Post" or "Hotest Topics", I think that would be a nice and useful addition for us community users.

Thanks

Mario

There are hooks for both statistics.

Yes I know, but I mean here in this forum, in this website, because many posts are not seen as they are answers to existing topics... so they do not appear on the right column.

It was stock in 3.1.x. I doubt it ever will be again. Latest posts on the board index has resource implications.

What does "it was stock in 3.1.x" mean?

Sorry I don't understand that expression. Does it mean that feature was dissable in that version?

It mean the feature was stock to IPB in 3.1.x, it was removed from the stock in 3.2.x with reason.

IPS generally tries to run as close to the stock as possible here to provide a reasonable representation of the software.

"Stock" means out of the box, or default in the software.

On a site with any sort of good traffic, a recent posts block is (1) not very useful because it's changing so frequently you rarely can review what's in it, and (2) somewhat resource intensive, as the posts table is typically the largest table in the database.

Thanks for explaning the term "stock" in this content.

I thought it would interesting for the community to show a kind of "Post Stream" similar to a Twitter Stream and give a community a more dinamyc view, but I didn't know about the resource issues.

What about showing the latest posts on hottest topics?... the resource issues would be the same?
