My users have a lot of messages (100 000).

I find that after the upgrade PM activity have stopped down to nearly zero on my site - from about 50-200 pr day earlier it is now only 5 -20 pr day!

I like to hard delete all messages that are older than 6 months. How do I do that?

Install the "inactive members" mod. This has a utility to automatically delete old messages.
