Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 25, 201212 yr A member of my community suggested a good idea today. It would be nice if we could be given the ability to restrict who can view certain profile fields. Currently, you can make fields "private," where only the owner, super admins, and global moderators can view it. But what about restricting fields where guests and validating members can't view them? Such as the fields for messenger contact information. Keeping all this public can easily open up your messenger account to a world of spambots. This is even more true if users want to display their e-mails publicly.
February 25, 201212 yr This is why in "Manage Member Groups" on the Admin CP I set "Can view member profiles and member list?" to no for guests, banned members & validating members - so they can't see any information about members.
