The naming and positioning of the "reply, add reply, post, preview buttons" always causes me to think twice before clicking these:

- "Reply" v.s. "Add Reply"? These convey the same meaning, but the first quotes the message and begins composing the reply, while the second posts the reply.

- "Post" v.s. "Add Reply"? These are named differently but do the same thing. The first is displayed on the "Fast Reply" window. The second is displayed on the Full Editor window.

- "Add Reply" (or "Post New Topic") v.s. "Preview". These are on the Full Editor window in left-to-right order. The first posts and the second previews. I find myself expecting these to be in the reverse order ("Preview" on left and "Add Reply" on right) because I preview multiple times before saying I'm ready to post, and the actions I do first I expect to be located on the left. I need to be caution to not click the wrong button in haste and accidentally post before I want to.

I suggest editing the topic view template for each skin and rearrange things to suit how you want them. You can also edit the language strings and rename the buttons to whatever you want.

Your first two points make sense, but personally for the third point, I expect preview buttons to be on the right and the actual form submission button to be on the left. I thought that was generally standard for forums?

Checking... phpbb has (left to right) Save, Preview, and Submit. However, vbulletin has Submit Reply and Preview Post. mybb has Post, Preview, and Save as Draft. So, you might ignore my third point.

Replace my third point with instead a criticism of the wording "Add Reply" v.s. "Preview Post". It suggests there might be a distinction between "Reply" and "Post". We might wonder why not Add Post or Preview Reply?
