Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 4, 200519 yr It would be good to have the ability to force an editor choice (standard/rte) on a per forum basis.
September 4, 200519 yr No ... I don't even see why this would be needed. I don't like the RTE, and I definitely don't want to be forced to use it. Keith
September 4, 200519 yr http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=181675 First post contains a query to force all users to use the RTE, second query in the next post given by Alex sets all new users to use the RTE.
September 4, 200519 yr He wants to set one forum to use the RTE and another forum to use standard. Keith
September 5, 200519 yr The reason for this is that we have a few forums where posts are formatted in a standard way by splitting the (current) editor box into several textareas, which users input their data to. This is then compiled with javascript into the post, which is then submitted as usual. This is all done within the template HTML bits, not modifying any of the core source code (the forum has a custom skin to allow this). Obviously this will be much harder if the users editor choice is set to the RTE, so it would be good to force them to use the standard editor (or disable the RTE) on a per-forum basis.
September 5, 200519 yr I see ... I recall there was a request for custom post fields, so you may want to push for that ... lemme find the link. Keith

September 5, 200519 yr I would welcome the option to disable RTE on a per-forum basis (though it should be enabled by default).
September 7, 200519 yr I finally found the link ... http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=183404 If you push for this it will solve all your problems. Keith
