  1. Having a separate test/dev site separate from your "production" environment is pretty much standard practice. Yet for cloud accounts that has presented a problem ... unless we've missed something that is available. Since transitioning to Invision cloud , in addition to our main site, we have paid for the smallest legacy cloud account as a test/dev site. Its closed to guests , and can only be accessed by accounts that are created by our Admin. We prototyped our site there prior to our actual migration from our previous vendor and have maintained it since. This second site was/is invaluable in preventing issues ... particularly in one of the major upgrades (4.5 ??) which changed how the default theme handled the header space and made some 3rd party themes as well as some apps unusable. We were able to find out what issues specifically affected our site. And it was huge. If we had just applied it to production, it would have been a disaster. Same with the initial roll-out implementation of lazy loading . We had images imbedded in the Forum descriptions which caused issues which we caught on our test/dev site. Invision support recognized the problem as somewhat unique to us at that time. I could go on, but the value that a test/site provides is obvious. Even for small, non commercial sites like ours. However now that option is going to cost more since Invision is closing out the legacy options with new, more expensive offerings. The increase in cost and "functionality" does not, for us, create any new value. Particularly since our use case for the account has an infinitesimal impact on the Invision host environment. There should be a fixed, low cost method of providing an option for managers/developers of cloud accounts where than can duplicate their unique production environment for the purposes of testing new apps/upgrades etc.
  2. As mentioned elsewhere in other discussions regarding Achievements, certain communities are populated with 'older' members who tend to be put off by competitive points, ranks , ever changing badges etc. But they can appreciate being discretely recognized for their longevity of association with the site. And yes, the join date is shown, but I'd like the ability to directly highlight longevity. I've tried various methods to achieve this with the current default features in Achievements but can't produce what's needed. I came close, but the text still said "Rank: or Current Rank" which is not desired ... and none of the rule options truly fit, so it was manual which isn't at all workable. I'd like a plug in to extend the existing, default feature shown below Seems to me the existing logic simply compares the joined date to 'now' and based on "x" amount of time differential displays the symbol and hover text I'd like to add more conditions to that logic: If time between joined date and now is >= 5 years and < 10 years, display new symbol with text "5 + year member" If time between joined date and now is >= 10 years and < 15 years, display new symbol with text "10 + year member" If time between joined date and now is >= 15 years and < 20 years, display new symbol with text "15 + year member" If time between joined date and now is >= 20 years display new symbol with text "20 + year member" And yes we do have members with 20+ years This would be applied automatically and would not need an option to apply manually per member This would be accessed via ACP only and would not need to filter by group as this would apply to all groups since its "self adjusting" and relevant regardless of group. Other features: Although my example logic is fixed (for ease of demonstration of use case) a more logical capability would be to the ability to add steps based on any time difference - like a yearly increase rather than 5. ability to add custom hover text for individual steps ability to upload a custom "symbol" for individual steps (although if that adds unnecessary complexity - good with a single symbol across all steps, TBD) actual placement of symbol TBD (although if that adds unnecessary complexity - good with existing) Thanks
  3. Yep, works ... THANKS !! Need to take it offline for the permission option to appear
  4. Assume it is now safe to delete the old Member Map from the ACP applications ?
  5. Did the final migration to the 4.6 version today ... movement of all the old data and settings went flawlessly .... New product is great . No issues at all !!
  6. Thanks ... saw that but wasn't sure I was interpreting it correctly ... now I know !!
  7. Hi, A small issue on install from free version. Just upgraded to 4.6 ... earlier Member Map disabled. After 4.6 install completed, in ACP Marketplace paid for and installed Community Map. Upon Accessing it I get a message requiring an api key ... ok I can get that. Then re-reading your comments above, I went via ACP to the settings page and got the import message ... but.... didn't access it immediately and went to another area in ACP. Now going back I do not get the import option any more, just the option to add the api key. Definitely don't want to loose all the existing member data ... stuck at this point.
  8. Super, Thanks ... PM in a few with details ...
  9. Yep , duh ... sorry , didn't look completely. And thanks for the immediate response !!! It is in applications, but still no button on any topic. . Clicking on Permissions on the main entry only says to change it in the modules in the application. But clicking to expand the entry to show modules does nothing
  10. Just upgraded to IPS 4.6 installed ignore forums via ACP Marketplace ... works fine. installed ignore topics via ACP Marketplace ... but doesn't show in ACP in plugins and ignore topic button does not show up on topics Went to check again in ACP Marketplace, but shows already installed and working ... Odd thing ... shows Ignore Topics option in Account Settings ...
  11. About to upgrade from IPS 4.4 directly to 4.6 . Will I run into version compatibility issues ? I'd bet your 4.5 version will work in 4.6 if we had that version installed. But since we are on 4.4 I believe we don't have the option to install the 4.5 version prior to our upgrade (although I haven't tried it. So when we go directly to 4.6 ... I'm curious, would you know if the IPS System might not allow installing the 4.5 version ? Do we need to wait for 4.6 compatibility to arrive to continue using the feature?
  12. Just getting ready to update from IPS 4.4 to IPS 4.6 ... should I let the upgrade process attempt to do the upgrade or disable the current versions and then upgrade via the markeplace after 4.6 has finished installing?
  13. Good to know !! Thanks again ...
  14. As a cloud community, back ups are out of our hands ... and having IPS restoring 4.4 to correct an issue is probably out of the question. But if I understand correctly, if during the upgrade it doesn't automatically disable the old member map, I need to keep if from linking to the new app or at least ensure that I do disable the old one and also keep from linking (yes I believe, also, there is an opt-out option) . Then, once the IPS 4.6 upgrade is complete go the marketplace page to purchase the new app and follow directions from there, yes ? This is the last piece of the puzzle enabling our IPS 4.6 upgrade ... and waiting also for the final IPS verification of 4.6 compatibility. We're a relatively new IPS customer and have gone through several prior version upgrades, but the transition from 4.x to 4.5 and beyond has been somewhat painful for customers as well as developers ;( Thanks for your continuing work on the map ... !!
  15. Upgrading from IPS 4.4 with old member map directly to 4.6. Noted your statement. ... "Upgrading from Member Map If you're upgrading from Member Map you'll be presented with a import tool the first time you visit any of the ACP pages for this app. This page will only be forced on you once, after this you'll find it as a button on top of the settings page. If you choose to use Community Map before you import you should note that all content in Community Map will be deleted prior to the import." Does this mean I should leave the old member map enabled and let the IPS version upgrade process also upgrade to Member Community ... or disable it prior to starting the IPS upgrade and enable after IPS version upgrade completion? I assume the 4.6 version won't upgrade in the IPS 4.4 environment , or will it ? I definitely need to retain all the existing member's basic map information .... having it be deleted would be a disaster.
  16. Thank you very much for the relatively "instant" action on making ignore forum and ignore topic 4.6 compatible !!!!! This has made our migration to 4.6 now possible.
  17. Completely understandable ... hoping that all goes quickly so ignore topic and ignore forums are installable on 4.6 soon ....my community heavily relies on these two features as they do exactly what we need. Related question ... we're still on IPS 4.4 (with ignore topics ver 2.2.1 and ignore forums ver 1.0.2) ...will the upgrade to 4.6 compatible versions migrate existing user selections for ignored topics/forums ?
  18. Had one member with the exact same scenario. One of our Admins manually reset his password to a temp one. We tested that we could log in ourselves using his temp credentials and did multiple times. Gave him the temp and he was then able to login multiple times without issue . He eventually changed it himself before logging out days later. No more problem. I don't offer this a a technical problem solving method ... the only intent here is to relate how our similar event played out. Have no clue why or even if that was the actual solution or some other random event that happened to coincide. Since we'd already changed his password to a temp one, we didn't have an opportunity to just ask him once he logged in to immediately change it himself t via account settings prior to logging out (ie take the password reset process out of the loop) and see if that would have produced the same effect.
  19. No problem ... when you get to it is fine.
  20. just installed site is on latest IPS 4.4, plug-in has default settings plus all user groups having ability to ignore ... Receiving unexpected message when clicking on "ignored forums"
  21. Well its back. Accessing Staff and Downloads throws error ... had to disable app ... not good
  22. Another potential customer if this has been updated to be 4.4.x compliant
