  1. I have been with this one since 2003 - I don't want to change. Their support is marvellous and very professional.
  2. I checked out SendGrid and yes the features are great - but what is with those users who are not interested in all those features like me. I just want to send a monthly newsletter and I know from the previous reactions of users that only a few really read the newsletter. So why paying for a service which I don't need ? That's my problem and with the SMTP gateway I ran into the big Stop Sign - my server will not allow me to do one more newsletter on this current scale. So there is only a solution for small communities and big communities but none for the medium one. That's my vote.

I have run into some difficulties regarding the Bulk Mail feature which brought up some ideas for future features in the Bulk Mail section : 1 : Filter how many mails per minunte / hour or day can be sent. 2 : An export feature for member emails which can be loaded into any bulk mail tool. The current solution with the SMTP gateway is not sufficient to those tasks at all and leaves only the SendGrid subscription for 19.95$ / month as the only solution but this quite expensive if you are still building up your communty and having like 2000 - 3000 members.
  4. Does Sendgrid allow to send stacks of bulkmail ? My server say's they only allow otherwise you risk to get on a blacklist. Or is IPB planing to have a feature in the bulkmail where the numbers of mails / min / hrs and day can be limited ?
  5. You quit right Randy - these are my thoughts too. I hardly make money just from those emails. I'm still in the building up phase and I thought I could use the email newsletter to keep people updated. My email provider has an offer which is even cheaper - but therefore I need to be able to use an alternative email just for the newsletter. So I come to the finding - I stop my newsletter. It's all too complicated and in my phase is just a waste of money.
  6. Yes thats what I meant - doesn't look like the average user really goes into action by email marketing or is this a good conversion rate ?
  7. I agree - looks pretty easy ... but it's quite expensive. I only do 2000 mails per month. I don't know if it's worth the 19.95$ per month. Does anybody have experience with user in fact reading a newsletter ?
  8. I checked all settings I could find - seems like there is no such solution then only to use SendGrid.... 😐
  9. yes I saw that - that would work for SendGrid. No I meant - having one mail as the normal mail for the IPB - like info@website.com and one just for the bulk mail - like newletter@website.com.
  10. ah ok - thanks that works. Thanks 😊 An other question - is it possible to have 2 emails in the system ? One only for the bulk mails ? My hosting provider also has a good bulk mail system but there I need an email only for the bulk mails. I would prefer that system if possible.

  12. I ran into a problem with my hosting company when I did my last newsletter to approx. 3000 registered users. They blocked my email and gave me those instructions under these conditions they would allow bulk emails : ------------- Bulk email is not allowed on our shared hosting. The exception to this is if you are using a program that does staggered shipping. The following guidelines apply on shared hosting. 250 emails per hour and 40 emails per minute. --------------- Is there a way I can setup my system to those limitations ?   13. My SEO expert gave me the advice to proceed that way. The 2 domains exist quit a long while but one " hpcrazy " is treated as a brand by google - and like 99% of the users come over " hpcrazy " there. So it make's total sense but I don't know what will happen with the clients who are on automatic subscription renewal. So that's why I am asking here - if anybody has experience on that.

I just had a talk with my SEO expert and he made me the following suggestion which I want to make sure that this is possible : I am running my board with quit a lot of paying members ( automatic renewal on PayPal ) on this domain here : https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members but I would like to move the whole system to hpcrazy.com/members So here the question : Is it possible that I move all files to the new domain but also leave the files on the old domain but switch the old domain to " redirect " so that no user, paypal subscription or backlink get's lost. But any new content or registration would be made on the new domain. Thanks for your help in forward.
  15. I wanted to fix the recommended database setting to change all of them the InnoDB-Databases. I contaced the support of my hosting company and they gave me the feedback that most tables are already on InnoDB and only 6 are set on MyISAM. I didn't have any problems running my board with those settings. Is is still recommended to change all tables to InnoDB ? Thanks for the help in forward.
  16. I have the same problem like the person who made the first post. I have 2 themes and both are marked with " Costumized ".
  17. and how do I get a default theme back ? I have 2 themes which are both marked the same way like the first post is showing in the picture.
  18. I have the same issue and I tried to revert those settings which were marked with an orange message. But it does not let me revert it. That orange message stays.

  20. also ended up there like after 15 min of waiting Looks like - i will not go for the manual upgrade since I have a lot of paying customers on my site, can not afford to have my site down longer then a few moments. I wait till I get a confirmation here that it's working.

  22. Hello, I have a problem or question about the email settings. I have quit a lot of users and for most everything works fine on my site but for some users the automatic emails from my site get rejected by there email provider and the mails get marked as spam or get rejected. I already made SPF entry on my DNS which altered the problem a bit but still like on 2% of new registrations I get rejected emails. I am using smtp plaintext to send automatic emails. Is there anything more I can do to prevent the described problem ? Thanks for the help in forward.
  23. Hi Jim, thanks for your anwser. I understand - i would just like to get the products, donations and subscriptions which I defined in Nexus displayed in the shopify store. I don't know if that is possible. I understand that this is not standard support - but if possible could I hire somebody to do this job ?
  24. I would like to make an integration of my shop ( Nexus ) to shopify.com. 1. Is that possible ? 2. And if yes - is there any guideance written somewhere or if no is there anybody who could help me out on this topic ? Thanks for the help in forward.
