New URL - where does this legacy info come from

Featured Replies

We have recently changed our name/URL from consumeractiongroup to nationalconsumerservice - www.nationalconsumerservice.co.uk

when I post the URL on Facebook, it is still retrieving our old name.

Anybody any idea where this is coming from please so that I can go in and change it

Thanks

Did you setup custom meta tags at some point? Loading your homepage, I see this in the HTML source:

				<meta property="og:url" content="https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk">
				<meta property="og:site_name" content="Consumer Action Group">

The Latest activity link in the top announcement is also hardcoded to the old URL.

Thank you for this. Do you mean in the SCO optimisation page?
I have this

I think I changed that at the beginning – but are you referring to somewhere else?

I'm afraid that I struggle with this kind of stuff even though I've been running the forum on various platforms for nearly 20 years.

As for it being hardcoded into the old URL, where would I reach that please?

That's the page. Click on the URL rows in your screenshot to expand the custom values and see what's actually inside.

As for the announcement, you can edit it in Moderator CP > Tools > Announcements.

Thank you for this. I've altered the contents but so far it doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe it takes time. I'm rebuilding the site map.

I believe you're on the IPS Cloud? If so, guest cache takes ~15 minutes to update.

Thank you. I feel very embarrassed that I don't know this stuff!

Hi @BankFodder,

There is no need to feel embarrassed! That's why we're all here to share our knowledge to make Invision Community better for all.
