Default to follow topics and events

Featured Replies

On this forum, if you create a new topic or comment on a topic, the default is to follow the topic. I'd like to do the same on our forum, but don't see such a setting.

Creating an event should also default to following the event.

I'd also like those who RSVP to an event to follow the event. This one's especially useful, since events can change...weather, etc.

Hi @NSPN,

At the top of the community next to your display name and profile photo, click Notifications → Notification Settings and you will see options there to make changes to Followed Content and Event Reminders.

I know that. I want to set defaults for everyone. Ah, I see it...CP/Member Settings/Notifications. (I was looking under Forums/Settings.) This applies to "content"...wonder if that's just forum posts or if it includes events as well.

This still doesn't cause those who RSVP to an event to follow the event, which we really need.

That was going to be my follow up post, haha.

Followed Content are notifications that will be sent whenever there is new activity on things you are following and have opted to receive immediate notifications for.

Event Reminders are notifications that are sent when an event you have asked to receive a reminder about is coming up.

I don't think these settings can do what you are after and will most likely require customisation.

Customization or new feature, a worthwhile one to my thinking.
