Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
tspeirs Posted yesterday at 06:21 AM Posted yesterday at 06:21 AM Hi, So I updated yesterday as soon as it was hot off the press (v4). It broke my theme and the admin cp is a little off too. It seems to be a javascript or css issue. The main issue is dropdowns dont work. Its also impossible to post a reply. Clicking the box does nothing, Fair enough I will do a restore I thought. However the issue still persists. Something seems to be cached somewhere. i tried clearing system cache and even tried a backup from two days ago, well clear of the update. Is anyone aware of these kind of issues? Thanks, Tom.
tspeirs Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM Author Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM (edited) It looks like I had a failed upgrade. I performed the upgrade again manually (by uploading files). My site is now fine but now my admin cp is broken with the following exception (configuration error): Looks theme related. i believe the admin cp has theme changes in this latest release? IPS\File\Exception: CANNOT_WRITE (3) #0 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/File/File.php(355): IPS\File\_FileSystem->save() #1 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Theme/Theme.php(5517): IPS\_File::create() #2 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Theme/Theme.php(2659): IPS\_Theme::writeCss() #3 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Theme/Theme.php(646): IPS\_Theme->compileCss() #4 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Dispatcher/Standard.php(57): IPS\_Theme->css() #5 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Dispatcher/Admin.php(89): IPS\Dispatcher\_Standard::baseCss() #6 /var/www/gameex/forums/system/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.php(110): IPS\Dispatcher\_Admin->init() #7 /var/www/gameex/forums/admin/index.php(13): IPS\_Dispatcher::i() #8 {main} I tried recovery mode which displayed perfectly without error. I have checked file rights. Edited yesterday at 07:41 AM by tspeirs
Marc Posted yesterday at 08:21 AM Posted yesterday at 08:21 AM The issue here is that the software cannot write to your file system somewhere. You need to check permissions on uploads and all subfolders, and your datastore folder. Its likely to be one of those that doesnt have full permissions
tspeirs Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM That was my take too and it was the first thing t tried. I even temporarily tested with 777 across everything. No luck.
tspeirs Posted yesterday at 08:34 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:34 AM Maybe I had a brain fart sorry. i tried on the rights again, and all looks good now. Sorry to bother you.
