[feature suggestion] 'Tree of Thought' Forum Structure

This would be a great way to structure threads within a forum. It would allow for organic tangential discussions to form and users to go down that road if desired or to remain with the main topic at hand. I am guessing there would have to be some form of button within the editor interface that would allow the user to respond tangentially or topically. Additionally, Moderators should have abilities to move posts along the stream.
