Find all members of one group, add secondary group to all?

Hi,

I'm working on a converted vBulletin Forum. I have quite  few users that are (paying) "Club Members", but are not in the secondary group "Members" as well. Is there any simple way to find all members of "Club Members" and give them the secondary group "Members" as well?

Welcome to IPS.

I'm guessing you're converting to IPS 4?  If so, then you can go to Admin Control Panel > Members > Groups and then click on the # to display all users in Club Members.  This will, at least, display all of your Club Members and you can download the list.

I don't know of any way to batch move your users though.  There might be an SQL query you can run.

With that said, if you know you want to apply ALL users in Club Members to be in the secondary group of Members as well, then you might as well apply the same permission settings of Members to Club Members.  I personally use secondary groups as "exception to the rule", if that makes sense.

Yes. I am trying to work it the other way around. Use only one type of group permission per Category/Forum and have every group member also be a member of the group "below" that, hierarchy-wise.

Okay, other than changing it directly in the DB, there's no way to do what I want? Or are there any other ideas?
