wikel Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Would be nice if the search function would display not only the forum but also the parent cat that the topic resides in. When you have cats with the same structure underneath them, you are forced to put the cat name in the forum name or the search output is worthless. I might have 20 different general discussions for different cats, but them all show in search as being under "General Discusion"... question is WHICH ONE?

wikel Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 That does no good when you are looking at a search screen with 20 items listed all showing "General Discussion" as the forum name. Again question is WHICH general discussion does it fall under. Cat A -- General Discussion Cat B -- General Discussion Cat C -- General Discussion etc...
Wolfie Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 If you know the different forums by their ID #, then you could always hover the forum link and tell by that. But that's not really too practical. If you know the forum (well, category) that the post you are looking for it is, you could search only that area.. Also not really too practical if you can't remember. Best option yet.. Have it show you the post contents. See the post you are looking for, click the title, it'll take you to the topic view, and the path will be at the top. :)
