I don't agree it would be pointless. I searched the forum and saw that it had been mentioned before. It's merely another side of a coin. If someone isn't a member, you can say they have no topics because there is no tracking. You can also say they have all the topics because there is no tracking. I believe as a forum owner if you presented me with the option to show my unregistered users nothing. OR unread topics that updated every time they visited. I think that's a no brainer. Repeated topics to someone not logged in is clearly better than no topics in that view. I don't understand why there isn't a default way to just show the latest updated topics in that feed when someone isn't logged in. Creating a separate view for people who aren't logged in, which is a large portion of any forum is not optimal. Then add a note section above the feed that says "want to come back to tailored unread topics for you each visit? Login with a link"

Currently when a guest lands on my forum, they see the forum list. I'd like to show them the latest topics instead to entice them to get started. Whats the best way to get guests landing into the conversation instead of having to pick a forum and then see topics?

Not sure if someone patched, but it's now working 20 minutes later.

hit the upgrade button and am getting this error currently. Not sure how to proceed.

I'm testing it on Chrome now, I'll report back one way or another. It'll narrow down the problem at least.

I added the forum to exemptions from security on Firefox, still having the same problem on mobile and desktop. Wanted to give it time. I took screenshots from email, and what is shown when I click. I then login, with the remember me checked. If I open from the email again 30 seconds later it works fine. But at some point in the day, say 2 hours later, if I get a new message I get same problem saying I'm logged out.

This forum has been really helpful for helping me dial in settings so I thought I'd give this issue a shot. Every day I am logged out of my own forum several times a day. I realize this could be a browser setting, but I hadn't changed anything. It started happening around the time of the upgrade to 5.0. I get this error when I hit refresh in my private messages. I'm not sure if it's a bug related to private messages or just in general. On my phone when ever I click a notification from email, i have to log in every time. I'm using firefox browser on both if that helps. I'm mostly wondering if anyone else has had this and knows a quick fix in settings to make it so it remembers me. I could go many months without logging in, in the past .

Mine was set to take me to comments I haven't read. Being that I chat back and forth, it shouldn't default me to page 1 each time. Wonder what is causing that, some type of cookie thing? Also the take me to comments I haven't read works correctly on forum posts, just not in private messages.

I'm looking for a setting where a private message will open up to the last message instead of the beginning like shown in the screenshot. As you can see this conversation is on page 7, and going to page 7, then scrolling to the bottom is tedious. I'd like it to just open up to last message in the conversation. Anyone know how I can accomplish this?

Anyone know why my update stops with this screen?
