IPS Community Suite 4.1.10 Available

This is a maintenance and security release to fix reported issues and add refinement to existing features. In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, it includes following new/changed features:

  • Instant notifications are now dismissible.
  • The sidebar has been added back to the stream pages.
  • You can now sort by most downloaded in Downloads app.
  • The ModeratorCP and AdminCP IP Address Tools now allow you to track the IP addresses used to vote in polls.
  • A new setting has been added to disable the RSS feed for activity streams.
  • A new setting has been added to specify the minimum display name length.
  • Adds a new "can unban" moderator permission separate to the "can edit profiles" permission being used previously.
  • IP addresses now show in reports.
  • There is now a constant-level setting to disable the ACP IP address check in case of being locked out of the ACP.
  • Several improvements to Commerce to make some features clearer: the Shipping Rates configuration pages now indicate to the admin if a potential mistake has been made, the front-end indicates to admins if no support departments have been set up, and the renewal settings wording has been clarified.

Check our Release Notes for full information and to keep up with releases in development. To be notified of updates as soon as they are available you can add an email address in your AdminCP under General Configuration.

I tried to upgrade and after this site was not available. So I have restored it from backup. Now I will wait for the next upgrade.

Not really a good approach. Whatever the problem was on your site, how can you expect it to be fixed in the next release if you don’t give IPS the chance to even check it out on your site.

Unfortunately we had a change that caused issues in PHP 5.4. That is our fault of course. You can easily apply the patch we provide and then ask your web host to upgrade your PHP. Version 5.4 of PHP is no longer supported by PHP and we are stopping support too.

Of course this one small issue did impact some clients but there are not a plethora of issues in 4.1.10 ^_^

So I'm still on   IP.Board 3.4.4

Can someone direct me to a post that will convince me to finally upgrade to the latest and greatest? What key features are in the latest version that I do not currently have.

Also, since I'm a paying customer will support upgrade to the latest version for me or do I have to do it myself? (I'm always nervous when it comes to upgrading the forum).

Thanks guys!

Not seeing this, it doesn't appear in the options on the frontend sort or the acp categories sort options!

Can anyone tell me where the new feature is to sort by the most downloaded,  has this been missed?

I had the same issue and contacted support via my client area. After that, I've been able to upgrade my board. I suggest you do the same.

I found a fix, try to upgrade, you will get this message about HtmlPurifierInternalLinkDef.php

Next, return to forum home and click to upgrade again. You will have a different message displaying that files are already ready for update. Click next and you have no more error about this file.

This update is just a pain and I can guess that we will have a new one in few days.

So is there an official place top report bugs other than submitting a ticket? I am on PHP version 5.6.19 and since this update the activity streams no longer function. 500 error.

Clicking on a posters name anywhere to see information about them, send a PM, etc - same 500 error. Trying to directly access user profile information - same error. My Attachments and Account settings are still working.

That would be better suited to a ticket, it sounds like something that is unique to your site.

thanks guys, that was all I needed to know. Found some files did not upload properly on automatic update process and manually uploaded, problem fixed. First time auto process has not worked for me.
