Editor Stock Replies

Wouldn't it be nice if the Invision Community editor could re-use whole replies, text snippets, and even reply templates?

As we get ready to welcome more customers into our staffed community support area, this feature idea has become a reality to help form personalized replies.

Invision Community has a saved actions feature that allows the community team to perform multiple actions on multiple topics. For example, you might want to add a title prefix, move the topic and add a reply. This works great for 'canned' responses and actions, but it is less useful if you want to edit the reply to personalize it.

Stock replies allow you to set up entire replies, partial replies or even reply templates.

Once you have these set up in the Admin Panel, they are visible on the editor.

You can choose multiple stock replies to build up a message with handy re-usable reply snippets.

Each stock reply has full permission capabilities, meaning you can specify which member groups can use each stock reply. For example, you may wish to create partial replies for your team but encourage members to use a reply template to report bugs, etc.

We hope you like this feature, which is coming to our 4.6.7 October release.

Is there a way it can be even more personalised by detecting the username from the original topic?

[USERNAME], thanks for your reply.

<then insert the stock reply>

I guess it could! But also you can just pop in the blobs of text (the non marketing word) and edit around it.

Btw, @Matt or @Charles, probably a good idea to disable purchases in this resource. πŸ‘

What if people want to buy it for their 4.4 or 4.5 installation? It's the only way people on older version can have this function. I see no need to remove it NOW. I understand it sucks with the price-change news and all but don't let all that get to you.

BTW you have done TONS of mods, some of which really seem that should be in IPS as core functions. You can't expect that one day these will not be implemented into IPS by the company. Instead focus on making and improving other great mods which are unlikely to be picked up by IPS: like quizzes, jobs and many others. πŸ˜‰ stay positive πŸ™‚

Great feature!

But it would be even more awesome if members could use their own stock replies.
Club owners, Marketplace creators and regular users might want to create, edit and use their own personalized messages.

Would it be possible in the future?

Thanks a lot!

The problem is that people using 4.6 can purchase it too directly via marketplace (they can’t on their ACP) and certainly will send a message/create a topic demanding a refund. I’ve been there already. πŸ‘

I guess it’s enough to add a big message in the file.Β

Hello Dears

It's great to have an almost certain timeline for future releases, as I've already discussed with Jordan.

For example, we now know that version 4.6.7 is scheduled to be released in the first half of October.

Or, for example, we implicitly know that version 4.7.0 is scheduled to be released on Jordan's birthday on 2022.4.7! πŸŽ‰

If there is a sidebar widget (or any other better idea) on the forums page that indicates the release date of newer versions, it would be great, and community leaders can plan for that.

For example, pay attention to this design (sidebar widget) :

Thanks for reading, Sajjad. πŸ˜‰
