I have multiple themes configured on my community, including one default theme and several additional themes assigned to specific forum sections.

When editing a non-default theme in Theme Editor, I attempt to resize that theme's logo image and click Save. After saving:

  1. The page reloads.

  2. The logo size change on the selected non-default theme is reverted.

  3. The logo size of the default theme is changed instead.

I have repeated this several times on different non-default themes and the behavior is consistent every time.

Expected behavior: The logo size change should be saved to the theme currently being edited.

Actual behavior: The modification is discarded on the selected theme, and the logo size change is applied to the default theme instead.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Theme Editor for a non-default theme.

  2. Edit the logo size.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Observe that the page reloads and the selected theme's logo size returns to its previous value.

  5. Check the default theme and note that the logo size change was applied there instead.

Also, not sure if this is intended behavior, but from the AdminCP > Themes > Open Theme Editor ... on a non-default theme, opens the front page of the site which is using the default theme instead of a section in use by the theme I want to edit.

There is something very much wrong in your environment there. Im not able to replicate that issue either. Are you able to replicate this on a cloud trial?

Well, you've already said I have a configuration issue from the behavior I described.

Also, I am getting a Sitemap generator configuration error in addition to the theme editor problem.

Can you guys take a look at my site?

I'm afraid, we are not able to look at server configuration issues. This would be something you need to review your error logs with your hosting provider and have them resolve them.

I'd recommend reviewing our requirements checker here to make sure you're meeting all requirements: https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/7046-invision-community-requirements-checker/

I'd also suggest disabling any security configurations or WAFs you may have. This may be interefering with and creating issues for you.

But I'm hosted with you guys. :)

This was posted in a Classic support forum, aka self-hosted. As it looks like you have both a Cloud community and a self-hosted one, can I confirm this is on your Cloud community?

Thank you, I moved this over. I noticed that your non-default themes are set to specific areas. Are you editing in those specific areas when this happens or just generically on another page? For instance, the Classifieds theme is set to the Classifieds forum.

Do you have an example that I can edit to try to reproduce this?

Thank you for that clarity. I'll take a look at the exception errors but for the sitemap errors, do you mind opening a new topic? Just so we can keep this clear of anything which may cause confusion :) .

Do you mind if I edit the logo of the Classifieds theme or any? Just want to try a few things to see any errors in realtime so I can try this locally with my installation.

There is a known issue where the theme editor will load the theme YOU are using, rather than the one on the page. This will be fixed in a future release (5.1.1 most likely).

In the meantime, as a workaround I would suggest navigating to a regular page that does not have a specific theme set, change the theme (at the bottom with the theme switcher), and then open the theme editor to make your changes.

I don't allow users or myself to select a specific theme, they are assigned to forum sections and are not choseable by a user, so I don't think this is the problem or a workaround.

I appreciate the thought though. :)
