Live Topic: assign a co-host/moderator?

Featured Replies

I'm doing a live topic with another member of my forum (it's an interview). He's a regular member, not a moderator. I would like to add him as the co-host but when I try I get an error saying he can't be a co-host.

Is there a way to make him a co-host without him belonging to the group "Moderators"? Once he's a co-host, will he be able to moderate the chat (mainly add questions to the Main Questions area?

Only members with permission to create live topics (as defined by the Livetopic Host Groups setting under Smart Community > Live Topics) can be assigned as a co-host. Take care adjusting this, as it would mean any member in the selected groups can create a live topic whenever they like.

Thank you, that was the part I was missing.

Ok so I've created a new group allowed to host Live Topics, and I've added that member to the group.

I see that I can assign him as a co-host and as a moderator of the Live Topic event. I guess I'm not sure what assigning him as a co-host does exactly?

They will show as a co-host on the live topic, but more importantly they can continue the live topic should the main host leave. They can also see attendees, if you have it set so that only hosts can see attendees in the live topic

I see, thank you Marc.
