Reoccuring event post

Featured Replies

Sorry for the vague title. Wasn't sure how to phrase what I want to do.

Is there a way to post recurring events automatically? I want to create a calendar of (specific) historic dates and have the system create a post automatically. I know there is at least one third party app out there that pulls from Wikipedia, but I am looking to have only events specific to our community. And by using the calendar, I could set it to post annually.

Thanks for any help!

You can have events appear yearly, yes.

Is there anything specific you need in addition to that?

I know I can have events appear annually, but is there a way to create a post along with it?

For example, this is the post we made yesterday. Ideally, I would like to have this post every February 1.

Today in the Christmas Calendar - February 1

February 1 is closely tied to the Christmas season in several ways, particularly in Christian tradition and cultural observances.

Candlemas Preparation: February 1 is the day before Candlemas, which is celebrated on February 2. Candlemas, also known as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple or the Purification of the Virgin Mary, marks the end of the Christmas season in many Christian traditions. In some regions, especially in Eastern and Western Christianity, the Christmas season officially concludes on this day, 40 days after Christmas.

I can’t think of a native way. Probably needs an API trigger e.g. through Zapier. Also not too hard as a custom app for a developer.

“turn description for recurring event in a specific calendar into forum topic in forum [X] when event is happening today“
