Merged Replies Edit Bug

Featured Replies

Hi,

I do not have this enabled at my community, so I have only just noticed this at another Invision-powered website.

When I post twice quickly in succession within a single topic, the posts are are merged. However, when I subsequently attempt to edit the post, the merged portion (the bit I wish to edit) is missing.

I exited without saving and copied the the second, merged portion, and again selected to edit the post. I pasted the copied portion, edited it, and saved. Only the added, edited portion displayed.

Given that the original content is not preserved along with copied/pasted/edited content, it appears that this is intended behaviour. If so, it is very unintuitive.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

I can't reproduce this.

Am I missing here any steps :

Could it be that you had the old editor content stored locally on your system?

I really don't think so. It is a site I rarely use and my edit occurred almost immediately after my second post.

I'll go back and test it out. Since you cannot reproduce it, I'll inform the community operator there if this occurs again.

Tested it. It appears to have been some kind of glitch - it works correctly now.
