Posted May 13May 13 Howdy,I noticed the other day that we hadn't gotten any new forum members for a while. I started looking into it and found that I can't create a new account. I am getting a Captcha error but I don't get any indication what I might be doing wrong on my end. I have tried everything from different new user names, and email addresses and password combinations. I feel like I am answering the Captcha challenge correctly and I keep getting this:To give you an idea....We would normally get a coupla/few new memebers a day. Sometimes none, sometimes a handfull. We haven't had any since April 17thThanks.
May 13May 13 Community Expert Hi @John P Costello,Have you recently changed anything in your CAPTCHA settings? Go to your AdminCP → Members → Content Moderation → Spam Prevention → CAPTCHA. If you're using reCAPTCHA V2, there should be a default Site Key and Secret Key in those fields, unless you have your own reCAPTCHA account. If you have your own account, you would have to grab these keys and add them to those fields.

To test it I just disabled it completely and got past the error message. I'll now turn it back on and try different cofigurations until I find the sweetspot for us.
May 14May 14 Community Expert No problem at all!I would suggest using hCaptcha as it has proven to be the most effective method for my community. They have a free account you can register which provides up to 100,000 requests per month. You can find out more information about hCaptcha below.hCaptcha - Stop bots and human abuse
