I just converted from vbulletin and i'm looking for a way to display ads inside the first post. I tried search but couldnt find a resource. Do you display ads inside the posts? Can you tell me how to do it? since im new to ipb i can't find correct htm file to edit yet. And i have no idea about the conditionals to use in ipb for the first post in the forum.

Yes it can be done, and no need to edit any files directly.

Under 'site promotion' in the admin cp, click on 'advertisements'. Go to create a new ad, and select the displaying settings check box for 'After the first post in each topic'.

 Thank you for the reply. Actually I would like to show inside the post not after the post. I got the best results inside the first post, large square floating right. However default ad integration doesn't allow inside the post placement.
