Not possible out of box. Change Post Date plugin also could be problematic because:
"Be careful when changing date from a post. You can have issues when merging/splitting posts if you set a date and it broke the logical sequence of posts ID of the topic."
[I was the one who reported problems with merged posts appearing out of order and it was found out that was due to posts IDs.]

In the old archived topic found via Google there is a tip that to make sure the exact characters are targeted you should copy the "p" combinations directly from a database table instead of "typing" them.
BTW. A temporary "workaround" could be to use "Trim Empty Lines" plugin but the downside is that only a "view" is altered:

From the menu view I guess you are using Ehren's theme.
You should remove the fa class from the menu Title and add this to custom.css instead:
#elNavSecondary_NUMBER > a:nth-child(1):before{ content: '\f018'; } NUMBER = you need to open the menu > right click the desired item > Inspect element in your browser to get the ID.

Your theme is outdated: either not compatible with 4.7.1 or retained some old code in templates during "Upload New Version".
So make sure your theme is compatible with 4.7.1 and reinstall the theme from scratch.

Hi,
Does anybody else has issues? I just tried to send a PM and it got stuck on "Saving" forever. Tried twice and no luck. My message included a link to a topic from this forum. When I removed the link my message was instantly published but it contains also the previous failed message. Trying to edit the message results again in "Saving" being stuck.
Also now while typing this message I noticed the same issue with a link and I also can't open the Code window (spinning circle and that's it).
EDIT: It must be some temporary quirk. Now all good. Just delete this topic.
