  1. So basically, Discord for IPS Forums.... just great. Whole thing is a waste of development time in my opinion, PWA tech is progressing rapidly and this will inevitably become a legacy app on the front of an app to browse a particular community. But I don't think you're really trying to help single community owners here. It sounds more like you're building a new product to make money with(thats fine in itself). I'm guessing in the future people will need to pay for a more customized or branded experience for their communities? Feel free to correct me if you do intend to release all
  2. Why exactly do you need permission to add such a feature? It's not like this isn't already possible via the DB. Waiting for IPS5 for such a simple feature is crazy.

Hey Makoto, Thanks for your consideration on these features and your honesty, I'd love to take advantage of the lower price, though it's too bad I won't be able to use it till later 😩 I'm actually on 4.4, which Ryan's doesn't support (I hadn't realised at the time support had ended) So i'm in a little bit of a pickle. I'll be keeping an eye on this. 😄

Firstly, well done, it's great to see an app that can be a replacement to Ryan's. I wondering though, if this is ready yet for my use case. My community gives support to some certain games and rather than having a heap of forums, we use prefixes to mark which game the topic is related to. These game prefixes are only available in certain appropriate forums and not all. Only 1 prefix can be selected and you can't make your own prefixes or choose any other tag to be a prefix. I can achieve this with Ryan's, though not perfect, I had replace "Prefix" with "Game" in your above screenshot (the
  5. Disabling/Enabling this results in: Error: Call to undefined method stdClass::save() (0) #0 /home/-/public_html/system/Patterns/ActiveRecord.php(372): IPS\brilliantdiscord\_Application->set__enabled('0') #1 /home/-/public_html/system/Node/Controller.php(703): IPS\Patterns\_ActiveRecord->__set('_enabled', '0') #2 /home/-/public_html/system/Dispatcher/Controller.php(85): IPS\Node\_Controller->enableToggle() #3 /home/-/public_html/system/Node/Controller.php(62): IPS\Dispatcher\_Controller->execute() #4 /home/-/public_html/applications/core/modules/admin/applications/applications.p
  6. Have you ever logged into your Admin panel? Serious question, because in your video you seem confused as to how to delete users, ban ip's, mass prune posts etc... all of which is done from the admin panel. It takes only seconds to deal manually with spam. But like everyone above, I very rarely get spam since IPS's spam service works so well, but you look like you're a victim of a specific (chinese?) spam bot. Why not try blocking Chinese traffic on your server and see how that affects things? (This is the better solution so you're not wasting your server resources on them)
  7. You can do it, but in the least ideal way possible.
  8. Today i'm what Bob was yesterday, tomorrow i'm Kathlene from last week. IP Addresses are as personal as dirt on a sidewalk. Don't worry, I'm laughing with you, not at you.
  9. Yeah, it could be a bit easier to find for the general user. Even if it was just an extra button in the "Share" popover that when clicked brought up a simple dialog box with the url in the text input (kinda like how youtube does it).
  10. That button simply maximizes the lightbox (removes the sidebar) and doesn't take me to the image itself, though I guess I can instruct people to rightclick that button and copy the link...
  11. Ah yes, I see that now on the page for a gallery image... but is there any way to do this from the popup?
  12. Maybe I've missed something, but, there seems to be no easy way (other than pulling out the dev tools) to get the direct URL to the full size images in the gallery? (Right click > copy link is blocked by the lightbox) Most of my users directly paste image urls into posts, no embed box. (Embed boxes are a pain in the butt when you're discussing many specific images that might be in the same album). Could this is added please, most image sharing sites have an input box to copy the direct file link and it seems odd that this isn't available...and given the history of forums and direct ima
  13. As Mark said. And how would conversation reporting work for harassment(and many other worse things) ... if admins could not review the content of the messages as well as context?
  14. Nice update! I assume though it's not 4.3 compatible yet... (and the statistics page explodes)
  15. Now that 4.3 is applied here, is there somewhere we can see how the supposed filter widget works?
  16. hey lets quickly do something to blogs so we can show that we still kinda care about it.... I'm sorry but the blog entry page design is still awful and most other popular platforms offer far nicer layouts, far better readability. Heck even this custom IPS.Pages blog is heaps better than the design of blogs. Sure I can make it look far better with custom CSS and it looks like I'll have to. The fact that IPS chooses Pages to make a blog with over their own blog app, tells you a bit about the state of this product. /myopinontakeitwithabarrelofsaltifyouwish
  17. :lindy: ... :c no worky, refund plz
  18. Theres also another question - Has IPS 4.3 been released yet? Without this vital version, your community will surely fall flat.
  19. @Matt / @Charles I noticed in the blog for the 4.3 announcement "Forums has a new widget where you can filter by tags."... Does this mean 4.3 will filter topics like shown above? If that is the case HOORAY.
  20. EDIT: I see your edit now. I'm not sure if you misunderstood me... I was pointing out that IPS seems to have made it work differently to most other software with any apparent good reason. My comment was actually for your suggestion.
  21. It's mainly because their implementation for file downloads differs from that of most other sites with download categories. Categories in downloads seem to be treated no differently than subforum categories, I don't see the advantage to why they've done it this way other than one solution saves time. I think his examples suffiently point out the flaw in IPS's implementation. This has irked me for some time, but never enough to give feedback on it.
