Invision Community 4.2

Here is the roundup of what's new in Invision Community 4.2!

Highlights

There's a lot of new feature in 4.2 but here are a few of the highlights:

Promoting ContentA new way to promote content in your Community internally, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

ClubsClubs are a brand new way of supporting sub-communities within your site. Many people have requested social group functionality in the past and Clubs are our implementation of this concept.

ReactionsOffer more fine-grained sentiments towards content than a simple up/down or 'like'. They are now in common usage on social networks, and so users expect to be able to be more nuanced in their response to something they see.

Complete Your ProfileEncourage or require members to fill out the details on their profile. Also now allows for quick registration to encourage joining.

And a whole lot more..

It goes on... here is the full list!

Be sure to visit each entry above for more information and screenshots. We hope you enjoy Invision Community 4.2!

Question? If I download this will anything change my forum theme?

Probably. What theme do you use? It needs to be updated for 4.2 or you need to start fresh with the new stock theme.

Oh mine is just a custom theme that I created from IP Board.  I didn't download the theme from anywhere.

Is it still going to write over it or?

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback.

Um I didn't use the clients area for the beta

It's not on the cloud client page for us

And this is not anything to do with 3rd party apps or plugins

This is the Beta that's doing it

So does this mean that I'm not allowed to submit a bug for what was found after the upgrade? Lol

It's not that serious, I just wanted to let it be known that something does happen

But ok, right on, I will leave it be

How do you promote articles? There is no link in any of my themes to do this but I've seen screenshots of it done.

1. Please check your mod permissions
2. If the permissions are correct, please create a new theme without any changes and try it there.

I've checked the mod permissions on the member group permissions and on the database permissions. All I can see is an option to tick "Can promote content to social media" which is already ticked. I've tried creating a new theme but no luck there sadly.

Where do you actually promote articles from? I'm assuming it's the 'Promote' button next to the 'Follow' button like it is with forum posts?

Will probably have to wait a few months until I can afford a renewal. Just irritating that I didn't inquire about it as soon as I saw it. :(
