Feature a post

Featured Replies

If the post you want to feature uses the quote box, the quote box gets left out. The reason to feature the post was what was quoted...a situation where the poster wrote:

I called and asked, the answer was

Yes it is the responsibility of the account rep

Only the top line was featured...

Also, if the post is longer, it cuts off. Makes sense, but there is no link to get to that featured post. Problematic on a longer topic...

Idea is typically to eliminate any extra content in short views like these so quotes are typically removed, as such so are images, etc... Of course, you're welcome to submit Feedback for changing this behavior. However, the last part there about no action button to the actual post, I have brought this up internally. You can click on the date the user posted to get to the post location in the topic but that isn't always clear.

Related to this, although the above is when using the Feature function, but to feature it within the thread.

But when using the Feature function for the topic, there is an option to add an image for the site's featured page. But that picture does not carry over into the Featured Topics block, middle post. I think it would make sense if adding it to the featured page with the selected image, it should also be reflected in the block.

If you set the image while featuring the topic, it shows in the featured content area. If you are using a topic feed and just named it "Featured Topics", it will not show there as they are separate.

Yes, that’s exactly it. Seeems logical that it could populate in both places.

Is there any other way to get a selected image or a default image into the Featured Topics block? I know I had a default image in V4, maybe it was a third party app.

That was third party. We do not have a way to give a topic image to show in other feeds. Only uploaded images to that topic will show in the Topic Feed block.
