emoji autocomplete no longer working after upgrade to v5?

Just upgraded to v5, now typing :) no longer auto-completes to an emoji? Is there a way to recover that feature? Thanks!

Is there a way to make it so that typing :) would generate a smiley without having to type the name and choose the smiley from the menu as in v4? For example using Word Expansion?

I tried the following, but couldn't make it work.

  3. Adjust your preference.
