Best practice moving from 4.7 cloud account to V5 cloud account

Featured Replies

A question as to best practice when migrating. Should one delete third-party apps that will not work with V5 just prior to conversion or simply disable them? I realize for us Invision is saas but just checking to see if there's a preferred method.

Any other tips?

The upgrader will disable third party applications/plugins/themes/etc... at time of upgrade from version 4 to 5. With that said, it is a good time to manage your third party add-ons and remove those which the author may have vanished, you no longer need, or may not have any stored data so won't necessarily be of harm re-adding later.

Thanks Jim,

Most of our third-party apps have not been replaced with V5 compatible ... except for one which does have extensive data. So even deleting the former will not be a problem. However the other we will retain does have a V5 version

Another question. I assume I can't upload a V5 version if I'm still on V4, consequently it will be disabled during the upgrade.

This may have an obvious answer but I still need to ask. Is there any special procedure to upload a new V5 version to a disabled app ?

You cannot. You will need to wait till after the version 5 upgrade to upgrade the third party items.

You'll want to ask the author. Typically, you would just install the version 5 counterpart, and the application will handle anything needed.
