Thread Viewers and Typing

Featured Replies

Really enjoying v5. It’s stunning and smooth so far. One question though, when it was fresh installed was able to see who was viewing a thread on the forum as well as see who was typing.

Can no longer see this now.

Was this taken away or is it a setting need to change?

Incredible work on v5! Loving it.

The package you're on does not have real-time who's there or typing, it is available on Creator Pro or higher. We offer 30 day free trials of all our features when you first join so likely saw that there.

Thanks. That’s unfortunate.

Wasn’t the ability to see whos viewing thread something that was available before for free years ago?

How come it’s now in the higher tier when already paying 99 dollars for this one?

Haha.

Thanks for the response.

The "live" interactive one has never been free. It is only on our Cloud as it uses modern code and infrastructure to see who is actually there or not in real-time.

What you may be thinking of is the "Who's browsing" block, which is still available on all plans but it runs on server sessions and is cached. Therefore, isn't as reliable as our "live" interactive one because server sessions last for nearly 20 minutes after someone leaves and then on-top of that there is caching so it isn't "real-time".

The ability to view at bottom who’s on a thread was part of packages before these cloud packages. 6-7 years ago when prices were also lower. I understand things increase in price and features are decreased or scaled down to be more “pay per feature”. I guess the days of forums are numbered if that’s how pricing works.

It’s all good :)

As mentioned, that is still available in all plans as part of the core software ;) . Its in Block Manager -> Recently Browsing (sorry not Who's Browsing).
