Is there a way to remove the line between the activity feed posts? It looks like all the posts are related/connected when they are not.

eg is there a way for it to appear like the blogs view

Add in custom css:

.ipsStreamItem__iconCell {
    display: none;
}

.ipsStreamItem__mainCell {
    padding-inline-start: var(--_padding-inline);
}

If you want images to appear, you'll need to select the Posts Feed widget:

And select the Featured option:
