Our Pick Enhancements
This is a small plugin to enhance some features of the core Our Picks page. I have always felt that the default Our Pick's Page was a little disorganised and all over the place.
This little plugin will change the default look to look a bit more appealing and organised. There are 4 settings to help with this:
Header default Image: Select a default image for promoted items which do do have an image. Header Background colour: Change the background color if you do not want to display a background image. Display Extra info: Enable or disable showing the 'Picked By' author and date, Cover Picks Columns: Select the number of columns per row for each item. This will not work with Fosters Our Pick Improvements as they're not compatible with each other due to both modifying the same code.
If you have Google Adsense adverts on your forum, then you will know how fussy they are about where you place their adverts.
This plugin will automatically try removing Ads from pages or area's where Google might not want their adverts displayed. For example this plugin will automatically remove adverts:
When the site is off-line, On specific Core Pages: Settings, Notifications, Attachments, Followed Members, Messenger, ModCP, Ignore Members, Support, Register Page, Login Page and Member Profiles, Most Pages where there might be a Edit/Add/Modify/Submit/Create form, On the Commerce Pages for Clients and Support, On the Discovery and Stream Pages, Any Forum which is selected in the plugin Settings. This could be for forums that you would not want Google poking around in, You can also add Pages to the ignore list via the plugin settings. You can select to display Ads on the Staff Directory, On-line Users and Leaderboard Pages.
At the moment this plugin has been tested on Forums, Pages and Nexus and may not work 100% of the time. If that is the case then use the Disable URL option within the settings.
Yes, this plugin is free and you're welcome 😉
Website Footer v1.01
This is a plugin which I created quickly to add an footer with a bunch of links and some social media links to my forum and I thought I would share it with the IPS community.
As you can see from the screen-shots, you can add up to 6 different blocks, quickly change the look and feel via the plug-in settings and add your own logo.
Feel free to use or not.
It's free, and you're welcome 😉
What does it do?
This plug-in prevents your members from trying to steal attention, by entering a title in purely uppercasing with lots of punctuation. The Plug-in will try and strip the text to a more readable format that is constant with your board posting guidelines.
Case Types: There are 5 different types of casing that you can use. No Modification, Sentence Case, Upper Case, Lower Case and Title Case. Excessive Punctuation: This tries to reduce excessive punctuation from the title. This will turn ??????? to ? and !!!!!! to !. Exception Words: These are word of your choosing that will never have their casing changed, regardless of your plug-in settings. If the word is upper case, all of these words in the title will be forced Upper case for example. Remove Characters: These are characters that will be removed regardless of how many there are in the title text. Names that begin with O', Mc or Mac will be processed automatically from o'neill to O'Neill or mcneill to McNeill.
IPS decided in their wisdom to remove sidebars within some area's of the Community Suite.
This 'Hack' will allow you to use sidebars with all applications, such as Calendar, CMS, ModCP, Contact, Members Profile, Messenger, Search etc.
This Hack will also prevent any Layout changes that IPS forces on your Community Suite. The follow pages will have full layout: Contact, Cookies, Guidelines, LostPass, Privacy, Register, Settings, Term etc.
The widget extension allows you to easily add custom blocks and then style them using your own CSS styles and classes.
The plugin will add three different types of custom widgets: Text, HTML and PHP.
Allowed Block Options:
Set the block to display on or off, Set the block to display to selected groups only, Can elect to use a block title or not. Good if you are showing adverts or not, You can use CKEditor or CodeMirror for the block content and this can be toggled via the Blocks settings. For example, HTML and PHP can use CodeMirror to make life easier if you are using HTML or PHP in your blocks. You can easily add CCS styles to the Block Title and Content using the Widget Forms rather than having to edit templates. This makes it easier to customise each block differently to have a different look and feel to match your website theme. You can add custom CSS classes via the Widget Form for quickness. Bear in mind this will add inline CSS to your theme, so it would be better to add custom CSS Classes to the Theme Custom.css instead. And yes, it's free and you're welcome 😉
Powerful and versatile 'Topic Feed Block' with loads of options to display Topics/Posts the way you want.
I was looking for a block that would fit my needs regarding displaying new posts and I found the default Topics and Posts block lacking.
This hook is based around (but not exactly like) Headstands ‘Recent Posts’ Sidebar block for v3.14.
I developed this for my own community. So, in the spirit of open source, I decided to release this hook/widget to spare other's looking for something similar and be charged a small fortune at the same time.
This hook is for displaying a block of the latest (last) posts posted on your forum. Very much like the IPB community Topic block, but instead of showing the topic originator, the last poster information is shown instead.
This block comes with the following abilities:
Custom block Title: I hate having to go into the language files just to edit a title. Probably won’t help with translations, but that could be changed later. Selectable forums: Select which forum’s you wish to display posts from. Your members will only see the posts that they have permission to view. Number of Posts: Select how many posts you wish to display to your members. Member Avatar: Select whether to display member avatar or not. Topic Post Count: Select whether to display a post topic count next to the title. Post Comment: You can display a post teaser in the same way as the IPB Post widget and control how many lines of the post comment you wish to display. And loads more options (Please read the release notice for more information). If you have any questions, issues or bugs. Feel free to leave a message on the IPB community board.
TDB Hiding Posts
Content moderation can become a chore for most forums. This plugin aims to take more of the work out of hiding content by making some of the more mundane tasks automated.
With this Plug-in, administrators can allow various actions to be taken when hiding content. A new Moderator Topic can be created in a selected Forum, this Topic will contain various information who and why the original post was hidden by a moderator.
Administrators can optionally have a customable Private Message send to the member of the Hidden content, explaining the reason why their content was hidden. Private Messages can be set as no-reply to give hot-head members time to cool down
The hide form now has 4 different options for a moderator to use:
Hide Reason: This has been changed to a select Option. This select box uses the ‘Warning Reasons’ via the members tab. This makes selecting a hide reason easier for moderators. Other Reason: Used as a custom Reason or to override the Hide Reason Selection. Member Note: This field will use ‘Default Note’ from the ‘Warning Reason’ options. Moderators can override the ‘Default note for member’ with their own custom reason. Moderator Note: This note will only be displayed to Administrators and Moderators, either within the hidden content or the Moderator Topic Post. Plugin Settings
Member Message: The admin can change the Private Message content with a Custom one. Date Format: You can change the default date format from the IP Board one. Change to suit your time zone or needs. Send Private Message: Admins can select to send a Private Message when Content is hidden. Private Message Subject: Enter a Custom Private Message title when sending PM’s. Select Default Moderator: Use this option to use a Dummy Moderator for Hiding Content. The real Moderator Name will be obfuscated from the Member. This is used in the Private Message only. Allow Private Message Reply?: You can prevent members from replaying to Private Messages to your Moderators. This gives your members some cooling down time before they can find the Forums or Contact Us Form. Create Moderator Topic. Elect to create a new Topic in a designated Forum after Hiding Content. Moderator Topic Subject: Custom Subject for the Moderator Topic. The Hidden Content URL will be appended to this. Topic Forum: Select a forum where Moderator Topics will be created. Please Note: Only Forum Posts will have will have detailed information to who and why the post was hidden. Please see screenshots.
