  1. Okay, you know the little change threshold button in a topic? That's directly related to rep right? I was wondering if there is a way to turn that to "all posts" by default in every topic for all users. Or if there's a way to shut that off but keep the rep system on. If there's not for either of those, I think there should be one. As I don't like the idea of not being able to see all posts unless I click that in every topic, and members not even knowing it's there.
  2. I think that's an excellent idea. If you think about it, it directly follows the same exact concept of "minimizing" and "maximizing" categories. You can minimize the ones you don't want to bother with seeing as you're not interested, and maximize them in case you want to have a look. Perhaps it could be integrated into a single feature? Or perhaps, integrated into a single feature, but also kept seperate. So that you could choose which forums to see the new posts feed from, but, it would automatically "uncheck" (let's pretend they're checkboxes) all the forums in a category you have minimized, as well as allowing you to re-check them regardless of it being minimized. Not sure if you follow me, I'm tired. :D
  3. I think it's a great idea. To me, it's not so much using it and making it work, as having the option. It sounds like an excellent option to have, and I agree with you, there should definitely be some systems in place to promote members a different way. The only other real way that I can think of to promote users besides post count is manual promoting. Obviously manual promotion is flawless, but time consuming and tedious. You don't want to sit there and handpick everybody.
  4. Thanks. I didn't notice that before. I +'d everyone in this topic for helping. ;)
  5. I don't know if it does, but I didn't use the uploader it has on-site as it requires me manually making every single directory by hand and then uploading multiple files in only one directory at a time. As that would take me days to accomplish, I instead used frontpage. I did get an error at the end and it said it didn't finish, but all of the files were there and they were all the right size and everything. I had this same problem with something else that was written in php and required me to use a database. The databases are seperate, but the url it lists in the error is not the url I used nor need to use. I manually uploaded the files for the game. However, with the install of the game I used part of the url that was in the error in the url instead of the url I thought I was supposed to use, and that's how I got it to work. But that's not working with the board. So basically instead of going "http://www.domain.com/forums/admin/install/index.php" I put "http://www.domain.com/homepages/8/d295017974/htdocs/forums/admin/install/index.php" It doesn't work like it did with the game. What I don't understand is how did this url work at all? Where does it even come from? I'll probably delete all the files and re-upload later. I need to take a break from working on it, thanks for the suggestion.
  6. I decided to post it here before creating a ticket, as other members might be able to help me. I am to the point where I install the board via the browser, however, it isn't working. I keep getting this message: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/8/d295017974/htdocs/forums/admin/setup/sources/base/ipsRegistry_setup.php on line 27" The url I typed in the address bar was: "http://www.domain.com/forums/admin/install/index.php" (replacing "domain" with my domain name) but that's what it tells me when I do. I checked the path to make sure it's correct and that the directories and files exist and in that order. They do. However, I previously installed a browser-based game on the same site and I had the same problem trying to access it's install file location. I just can't remember how I figured it out. Anybody know what's going on? The address it says in the error isn't something I've seen anywhere except in the other error I received when installing the game.
  7. I got the e-mail you mentioned today. Thank you for informing me. The original e-mail didn't mention anything about 'fraud review,' so I wasn't sure what was going on. Anyway, thanks for letting me know, it's appreciated. Perhaps mentioning it in the original e-mail in the future would keep other first-time customers in the know? Just a suggestion. :) Edit: I tried the skinning forum again and that still doesn't let me view topics. Is it possible I could have access to that area? I would like to see what's available. :)
  8. Okay so I just need to wait then?
  9. Hello, I bought the IP Board software approximately six hours ago. I've dug around in the client area quite a bit, but the downloads area just gives an error and the invoice is considered pending. It has a support ticket on it and the ticket number is #597002. I was expecting to be able to download right away after payment was received, but that didn't happen and I've been checking back since then. This is my first time buying here so I mainly just wanted to know if this is common and if it is, how long it usually takes. I'm willing to wait a day or two if necessary. I would just like to know how long it will take before I can download it, or if there was a problem. There's no rush. I also can't view the skins forum, which was what I was going to go through while I waited. It says I'm not a customer, or if I am that I need to log in with the information I use to log into the client area, but that's what I am logged in with and it still says that. Or do I just need to wait until the above is solved first? Thanks!
