  1. Hello, I finally got my forum updated and have now commerce. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone will be able to answer. When a member purchases a subscription, I don't get a confirmation e-mail from PayPal as I used to do when I used the subscription manager. How can I change that? Is it possible to remove the lines, so members don't have to put in their address, when they subscribe? One member did manage to subscribe without paying. Is there some loop whole I should be aware off? Thank you
  2. Yes, it's wonderful. Thanks so much. I have written Invision now to ask them to update the forum, so I hope it can be done soon.
  3. I'm updating this topic again. My hosting company won't help, because it's not a managed server, and I can't have the site moved to a managed server, because it's too big and I need access to the forum, before I can downsize. So it's a bad circle and I'm stuck. But Miss_B was kind and looked into what error message it is and it appears to be mysql related, so I need to learn mysql, so I can figure it out. I looked up some tutorials but I'm a bit confused about how many programs I need to download when I have the server already. When I go to cpanel, I have three places to go for mysql, which are: MySQL Databases, MySQL Database Wizard and Remote MySQL The error message is: The server requested authentication method unknown to the client. And I can google and people suggest running a specific query, but how do I do that and with what program? I can't find anything in those three programs that that says "run query". It's mostly about creating databases and users. So what programs do I need to download to my own computer to hopefully run queries? I hope I make sense.
  4. Thanks so much for the help so far. It's getting late here in Denmark, so I'm off to bed. I know several of you say mySQL error, but the server seems to be in version 5.5.62, so if it's not the incorrect version, what can it be then?
  5. I did that now and unfortunately that didn't help. Now it says another error when you "go back to index" than it did before. Now it's 500 Internal Server Error. Before it was error 404. I changed the file back to the original.
  6. What do I do? Replace the file with a file with that info? I just don't want to do something wrong and mess even more up.

  8. I must admit, I have no idea what the htaccess file is and where to find it. But on the other hand, I did find the place in cpanel where I could change php versions and it's 5.4 and I can change it to 5.6, but it doesn't help on the problem.
  9. Well, now I looked at another page with server information from cpanel and it says: PHP Version 5.4.45 MySQL version 5.5.62-cll But in phpMyAdmin it said php version 7.2.7 and mySQL 5.5.62 But MissB says the error message is specifik about mySQL, but even the hosting company said it was 5.5.62, when I talked to them.
  10. You might be onto something. PHP version is 7.2.7 it says in phpMyAdmin. How can I downgrade to 5.6 until I get the forum updated?
  11. The forum is here: http://himstedtheaven.net/forum/ where you can see the error. I will write you, thanks so much.
  12. I have found conf_global.php in the File Manager, but I'm not sure what to do now. When I click on view, I get lots of information and I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I see a line that says sql user and then the user name and when I look at mySQL Database that user is listed as privilieged user. It also says sql_pass at one line and a word. Is that the password then? In mySQL Database the password is not listed. No one had done any changes to this, so I don't know how this problem arised.
  13. Thank you. I will try to look at it tomorrow as it's getting late here in Denmark. Yes, it's the same. The hosting company suggested moving to another server and a week later, they found out they couldn't move to the server, they suggested, and I had to call them on a specific phone number, where they did not answer. I then finally got help through their regular support to cancel the move and fix my ftp access which somehow got messed up during the move. So that is why it has taken so long to try to figure something out.
  14. And now I have to ask stupid, but how do I do that? I can get to the SQL Database though cpanel and can see there is some users and that you can change passwords. But how do I check in the config file?
  15. Hello, I have an old version of the forum that I was supposed to have updated, but before I got to it, the forum stopped working. Invision don't know what is wrong although they did have a suggestion, but it appears not to be the problem according to the hosting company. But the hosting company doesn't know either and wanted to move the forum, but then they couldn't and I lost connection to the server for a while. Now I got that fixed and can now get to the server again, but I still don't know what is wrong with the forum. The forum is here: http://www.himstedtheaven.com/forum Is there anyone who has any idea what can be the problem? I can of course provide ftp and cpanel access now that it works again. I do have a somewhat recent back up of the forum on my laptop.
  16. And now the server people realized that the website is too big for the server they suggested themselves and have stopped the migration. I should buy a bigger server or delete files. Deleting files makes sense, as I have a forum going 13 years back, but I can't get to the forum and delete old pages, so I'm stuck unless I want to move it to a bigger server. The server people were never able to figure out what the problem was. It wasn't because the server was updated to mysql 8, because it was still on 5.
  17. Thanks, I have talked to the hosting company and they say it's mysql 5.something, but the server had not been updated for many years, so they switched me over to a cheaper one with service, that has mysql 5.6 and when the move is done, I hope the forum will work.
  18. Thanks everyone for the replies. I tried looking for the sql_error_latest.cgi file in the cache folder, but can't find anything like that in any of the cache folders, I can see. I will try calling the server people.
  19. Hello, I was supposed to have my forum updated by the software people, but they keep asking me to do some technical things and I couldn't figure it out and then the world went crazy and my son and I both got sick, so I didn't get it done yet. Now my forum is down for some reason and the software people don't offer support, because it's old software, but they did suggest to look in the cache/sql folder. I just don't know how to do that. The forum is located here: http://himstedtheaven.net/forum/ Can anyone here guess what might be wrong and how can I fix it?
  20. Oh, the problems keep coming. Now they need access to PHPMyAdmin and SSH and I have no idea how to give them that. I have never used it and don't know what it is. They also ask me to turn off the site, which I do think I can do, but then I need to update the server to php 7.1 or above and again, I have no idea how to or what it is. On top of that, my hosting company sent an e-mail saying this: Beginning March 18, cPanel will be forcing all servers to update to EA4 from EA3, which could break your site. We're strongly encouraging our customers to upgrade now. That way, if anything breaks, you can still roll back to EA3 and troubleshoot without your site being down for the length of time it takes to fix the problem. Yes, great, more to deal with that I have no idea about ๐Ÿคจ
  21. The closest I get is in a folder called logs. It has gz files, but with different dates and not the size I'm looking for. In my mail it said it was saved in the home/my user directory, but I just can't find that through Filezilla. I finally found it, hooray ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. Thank you. I just can't find it in Filezilla. I have looked everywhere and can find many files created that day, but not the backup file. The back up file I have downloaded is 21 GB and I just can't find this big a file on my server. In what folder is it usually placed?
