  1. I really like the idea of the Activity Streams, so I thought I'd make a custom Activity Stream here to test it out - I always want to know what's new with Marketplace items, so I created a stream based around that: Showing files in Utilities and Stats, Developer Resources, Member Extensions, Staff Extensions, Fields, Social Experience, Multimedia, Bridges and Integration, Commerce and Blocks and Widgets posted since my last visit. Thing is, I've had it running for a week+ now, and every time I visit, it says there is nothing new - I checked, and there have been new items added to the Marketplace within the last week, so obviously I have something set incorrectly, or it's not working as expected. Here's the other options I have set for the stream:
  2. A few weeks ago, I temporarily transferred the domain to the invisionpower domain, but I need to change it now. How do I change the primary domain from a domain provided by Invision Power (deltagaming.invisionzone.com) to my own domain. If it helps a little, I purchased this domain through Google Domains a few months ago.
  3. Was trying to re-organize our emoticons and I didn't see a way in the admin panel so I removed them off the server. However, they are still showing up in the admin panel. How do I remove the blanks ?
  4. Maybe strange, but I am looking for the ranks. Now in the forum at the posting and at the user there are the pipes. I don't want the pipes. I want to show the title of the rank. I looked around but weren't able to find the setting for that. Please help.
  5. I attempted to load a theme xml that is 2.6 MB but received an error stating the file size is too big. Can I change the setting for this and if so where ?

Why does it take several attempts at embedding YouTube videos? http://thesandtrap.com/forums/topic/85243-embedding-youtube-videos-on-this-site/ My members were getting so frustrated I had to make the video showing how I will embed videos, which basically involves pasting the URL 5-10 times with returns after each, and then deleting the many which didn't embed and occasionally one or two extra that did, leaving just one. Is this like this for everyone? Why is it so difficult? Why does "ipsnoembed=true" seem to be tacked on so readily to paragraphs, links, etc.? More importantly… What can be done to make this more reliable?
  7. I have dropdown menus within the navigation bar that have many items attached to them. With the default theme, these drop down into two horizontal rows. I want them to drop down into two vertical columns. How could I do this?
  8. The Gallery is awesomeness, but in an earlier version there used to be the option to FORCE users to create 'Albums' for categories such as 'Member Related Albums'. It would be nice to see this in it once again, as of now, they can freely put images anywhere they want with no organization or thought to it. The option to ALLOW Albums is great, but having the option to FORCE members to MAKE an album or use a current one they own would be even better!
  9. Hi, I am loving the IPS software so far. I have used VB for about 7 years before going to XF for about 3 years, and it has been a treasure to find IPS which supersedes both of these platforms. Massive accomplishment for the talented minds behind it. There are many things I love, the 4.1 release has definitely taken it to another level (I'm a fan of the new Menu and Activity Stream, this has resulted in much better usability IMO, especially once some minor issues are fixed). At present, a couple of small additions would be appreciated. 1. When creating a Custom Block based on the Topic Feed, it would be mighty useful if we could set a Maximum number of posts (for my purposes this would be set to 1). This gives us an Unanswered Topics block. Currently, it has the ability already to set a minimum, but no maximum. The potenital for this is huge for our forum, as it allows any unanswered threads to be featured = higher community involvement and better member satisfaction (no-one's questions go unnoticed). 2. Better Admin and Moderator controls on the front end for Member's profiles. I find myself visiting a member's profile only to find no access to Admin or Moderator information there, so then have to login to the CP and search the member manually. When doing a quick check on new or suspect members this is cumbersome.

  11. I am seeking some help on a specific Group Permissions scenario. Out of 4500 members on our forum, I have 90 who have higher level permissions than regular members representing different regional locations across the country (Canada). I am trying to set up the Calendar and Gallery applications so that the 90 users will have full administrative access to them. But I only want to assign them full access for their individual respective regions. I do not want them to be able to add, create, upload or modify any of the other regions’ Calendars or Galleries. This is what I have done so far. I have created a Member Group called CalGal and given it full access permissions to the Calendar and Gallery applications. I have then set this CalGal group as a Secondary Group for the 90 users. My problem is, this configuration allows all 90 users full access to all 90 Calendars & Galleries. I do not want to create 90 extra individual Member Groups. I have also looked at the Staff/Moderator settings area, but noticed that it allows for more of an administrative editing process; it does not provide a group or individual with the ability to add/create/upload etc. Is there a way to set up what I am asking for, without creating 90 extra individual Member Groups? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, I've setup the twitter handler with everything needed (api keys, secret...etc), authentication works, and i am being redirected back to my forum where i have to insert an email account to use for registration. After inserting the email, I am getting this error message: "You are not permitted to register a user account with this site." Error code: 2S272/1 now what???
  13. We have a forum we'd like to close to new posts and replies, essentially making it an archive. How do we do that?
  14. Hi, We took over the forum hundesonen dot no in june, and upgraded to IPBoard 4 i september. After the upgrade we've have serious performance issues. To gain extra performance we moved the forum to a new VPS when we upgraded to IPB4, which means we have two possible sources for the lack of performance. I'm a web developer, but have zero experience with IPBoard. I've tried everything I can think of. I've optimized MySQL, tweaked Nginx, using cache, talked to the VPS vendor, with only minor performance gains as a result. Is there somebody out there who can help us? Our VPS has 250 GB SSD, 8GB ram, 4 core CPU. The MySQL DB is 8.6 GB and consist of bot MyISAM and InnoDB. We run Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS, PHP 5.5.9-1, nginx/1.4.6, mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.44. It looks like we have some slow queries and MySQL locks.   15. Hi When I add an event I can add the address in full with postcode and this pulls up the google maps which I think is a great feature. However is there also a way to show the address in full under neath the map so people can add the postcode into their sat navs to find the place? Hi, after migrating to IPBoardV4.0.13 I'm desperately seeking for an equivalent to the XML-RPC API https://www.invisionpower.com/support/guides/_/advanced-and-developers/api-methods/xml-rpc-api-r62 That page was update "Updated Feb 26 2015 11:45 PM" but the content doesn't apply to V4 anymore, as there is no interface/board/index.php anymore. Is there a new API to get the same results or where did this funtionality go to? Best regards
  17. I dont know if this has been mentioned before ( I could not find ) but seems in IPS4 gallery picture embedding is changed.   18. I have on my forum a lot of topics with titles like: "problem" "i have a problem" or "help", "search" There may be an option in IPB 4 (or plugin) to block some of the names topics?
  19. I would like to disable the option users have to Import photos from URL in their profile. In 3.X we disabled this and only gave avatars out to those who donated but 4.0 users can import a profile photo at will. Please include an option to disable this.

  22. Is there still the possibility to define custom BBcode (like in the past) and to edit existing BBcode? Can the spoiler be edited to allow a title that comes from [ spoiler=title here ] content [ /spoiler ]? In the past there was the possibility to toggle code/preview view in the editor. In code you would see all the BBcode and in the preview you would see how the BBcode looks, is this feature still available?
