  1. IPS 4 release date?

Thanks, I appreciate knowing that IP4 will be released sometime "this year." @.Ian - the reason why it's important is that V4 is, by all accounts, a massive rewrite of IP's systems, including the front-end design theming system, the back-end administration, and the database schemas itself (at least, this is what has been discussed on Big Board Admin forums). I'd rather not invest a substantial amount of time on a platform that will require me to invest even more time later on; I'd rather wait until the next version comes out and then spend time developing on that platform, if that makes sense.
  2. IPS 4 release date?

Hi there, I am looking to purchase an IPSuite license(s), but I'd obviously like to hold off until version 4.0 is released, given the substantial rewrite that has been taking place. Is there a timeline for release that I can be planning on for my clients? Thank you!
  3. Hi Andrej, Thanks for the reply. I understand that Subscriptions transfer fine - but does that also mean that recurring payments sent to PayPal for subscriptions previously created in vB will continue to be updated in IPB? Thanks!
  4. I found this to be an incredibly useful thread. Thanks for highlighting some of the reasons to convert to Invision Power Board.
  5. Hello there! After years of considering a move to IPS, our Big Board is crossing off one of the final items on our checklist. Can you please help answer this question? Premise: On our vBulletin 3.8.x forum, we have a number of Paid Subscriptions, recurring payments handled by PayPal and the Payments API at payments.php; thousands of our members have long-standing recurring subscriptions and each time a payment is made, the system updates their subscription with a new expiration date reflecting that payment. Missed payments, or cancellations, result in automatic cancellations. I understand the IP.Nexus offers much of the same functionality. Question: Is there currently a working importer that will (a) successfully import all vBulletin 3.8.x paid subscriptions; and (b) ensure uninterrupted, continuous recognition of payments sent via the Payments API and other payments calls from PayPal? Please let me know if this question doesn't make sense. For us, this is the last real major barrier in our potential move over to IPS. Thanks! Kaelon
  6. IP.SEO Update

[quote name='Johnrc' timestamp='1293958873'] Getting excited to migrate from vB3 with vBSEO. Count me as another excited listener!
  7. is wondering how other vBulletin users have been faring with the conversion to IPB.

  8. Combined Support Updates?

Thanks for the information. Is there a release schedule for products that would give me a sense as to how often each product line is updated? I am trying to set up a budget for the number of licenses and sites that I may convert.
  9. Hi there, I understand that I can get substantial (up to 20%) off by purchasing all IP products. However, is there a way that I can "extend" all of the product support licenses concurrently with a single reduced payment, instead of having to extend each product separately?
  10. A potential vB convert

Thanks so much for this. It was a great read and it gives me a solid impression of what to expect at least in the conversion process and its steps.
  11. A potential vB convert

That would be awesome. Or, if you'd just like to e-mail it to me, feel free to send it my way!
  12. A potential vB convert

I guess for my particular case, and I would imagine the case of others contemplating the shift, it'd be helpful to see a running diary/blog of a production site vBulletin admin trying out IPB. What sort of conversion difficulties/challenges does he overface, and how does he overcome them? Perhaps I'm overly cautious, but that's why I am excited/hopeful that The Geek will be keeping a blog here where he can share his experiences. :)
  13. Be sure to keep us in the loop on how you approach IPB's systems. A few of us are awaiting your initial reactions to help guide our next steps!

  14. Thanks, Mark! Is there a human-friendly way to link to Wiki content (e.g., "www.domain.com/wiki/WikiArticleName")?
  15. Thank you so much, Brandon. This is really helpful. I have another question: does IP feature any out-of-the-box or user-contributed Wiki tools or functionality? A significant portion of our community makes use of free-tagging (and contextual free-linking) and shared-editing of our site encyclopedia in the same way that Wikipedia works.
