  1. What, by being able to use the tab key and by not having shortcut commands change its' saved state?
  2. In his defense, it is kind of annoying.

    New IPB Board?

At this point, using RC2 for a new board probably isn't going to kill you. Most bugs have been worked out by this point, and the final release is only weeks away. That said, like Mark said, if you do happen to run into an issue with it, you can't come to IPS for help--they don't give support for pre-final releases.
  4. On 2.3, no, this could not be done without modifying the source code. On 3.0, it would be as easy as adding one line of CSS.
  5. If they charge for people to do it they'll only go behind their backs like they do already--and either way, $15 or $20 is hardly comparable to $150.
  6. I'm not IPS, but I can't see this happening. They want to encourage people to buy their licenses directly, not from existing or former customers. Transferring licenses is of no benefit to them at all.
  7. I agree that it shouldn't be shown on topic view, at least not by default.
  8. You could just change the icon to match the other "read" ones... the whole read/unread scheme really doesn't fit into what a redirect forum actually is.
  9. I would like to see the option of having the entire filter on a user opt-out basis, now that the framework of 3.0 supports such a thing [at least, I would assume, given BBcode permissions]. Whether it happens or not, it is something I plan to at least attempt myself.
  10. Because it's easier to have one than to put hard-coded exceptions all over the place, and because, likely to be used or not, it gives admins full control over permissions, even to the extent of hiding something from themselves should they really want to.
  11. In light of it being on the "watch this topic" button, I'd guess it means you're subscribed to said topic.
  12. I could be wrong, but if you have a group of global moderators, I don't think you can limit their abilities selectively.
  13. Setting the trash can as read-only would cover at least being able to post or edit posts in the forum.
  14. That could have a dangerous potential for abuse.
  15. That would be the equivalent of giving them FTP access so they can help translate in 2.*... Somehow, I don't think either would be a very bright move.
  16. Earlier today--see the announcement.
  17. As far as I know, bugs in the skinning process do not usually prevent the normal operation of a community. ;)
  18. Sorry--I thought the words were by June, and that is what I was referring to, but perhaps I was mistaken. Either way, it's not a big deal--it's coming soon, and that's all that matters.
  19. Sorry bud, they're not going to hit the June release at this point [nor do they have plans to]. Disregarding further fixes, the skin contest isn't even closing until June 1st, then there's voting and IPB choosing their picks as well, all which has to be done before 3.0 Final being released. Consider the hundred-some bugs reported and fixed [or to-be-fixed] in RC1, and we have an inevitable RC2 coming still too. Optimistically, second or third week of June.
  20. I expect you could modify it to run through the language system, with a replacement variable or something of the sort; I don't know what would be involved though.
  21. You could make a 'performance mode is not enabled' hook... hah. And then when you turn performance mode on, it would disappear. I guess it would be debatable as to its actual usefulness, though.
  22. If you don't have any existing board and you're not converting or anything, do a fresh installation.
  23. see the post below this one.
  24. This should be done automatically when upgrading; people are going to wonder where the comment system and all their comments went.
