Hi Guys,
We're getting lots of spammers registering and some of them are taking to PM's to spam discreetly.
What I'd like to do is restrict new users for 15 posts or so. Starting with just not being able to PM during this period.
This used to be a setting but now it seems that I need to make possibly a 'New Member' group to put new registrations in, which is restricted, and then auto promote them to the Members group after 15 posts. Is this correct? Is there anything I should know before I do this?
Thanks,
Christian

Hi All,
I'm sure this is an easy fix and I just need to rebuild images, but some of the thumbs on my site are blurry; https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/472901-my-e90-bmw-330i/page/5/#comment-7899665
If you click through to the main image it is nice and crisp.
Maybe this is because thumbnail size may have been increased a few years ago?
Thanks

We would need the name of the user who has the issue also. We can then get this looked at for you
Haha yep. That was a fairly crucial omission. Sorry.
User is RAJ_007

Ok, that issue is fixed, back on 7.4. So, I'd still love your help with the original issue.
-
Argh!! I think my whole problem was that redis wasn't clearing on restart!!
I had to run the cli followed by the commands FLUSHALL & FLUSHDB.
7.4 working fine. I'll try 8.0 again tomorrow with the flushing of redis.

The failed 8.0 upgrade thread is here;
-
Rolled back to 7.4. Just not able to get any traction with troubleshooting 8.0
Unfortunately the AdminCP still does not load. I'd still like some help if possible.
-
Thanks Marc, it's all up to date and the access details are correct.
I have another thread in the support area about a failed PHP 8.0 upgrade. I can't access the admincp at all.
-
Yeah I've lost it all now. 500's being thrown everywhere. It could be that they were being thrown before though, I only just disabled my Cloudflare cache.
I've updated my access info with working details.
-
Thanks Randy, but Recovery mode just made the whole site start throwing 500's while still not loading the admincp.

Hi Guys,
The upgrade to 8.0 is almost done. The site loads and runs fine. BUT I can't do anything in the admincp, I get fatal errors.
The issue is the cached plugin file "template_0_77e511f3f597b974567a95c3a1860bbf_plugins.php" - it is throwing an exception;
"PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Unparenthesized `a ? b : c ? d : e` is not supported"
I thought I disabled all the non 8.0 supporting plugins and apps, but I guess not.
I went through the DB to disable all the plugins. I left the applications because the update to 4.7.2 that I only did this morning already disabled all non 8.0 applications.
I then deleted the contents of the cache tables (I made backups of each).
I don't know what I can do now as I can't get into the cp to clear the caches or check status.
Would love any help.
Thanks,
Christian

It looks like they are using a link from their email to get to the site, or have saved an email link. Essentially, they are using the validation email rather than visiting the site directly by the look of it. I would advise on checking that first of all
Hi Marc, I also get the issue when I log in as user from the Admin CP.

Hi Guys,
Can anybody help me with this error? I had it years ago but don't remember the fix.
User is an older user (Registered 2014) and swears he didn't use OAuth for registration.
Any help would be great, thanks.

You cannot get this to work without having the integration added to your platform. Im not sure why you would remove it there?
Because it was throwing errors, its been a while since I used it. I was just going to re-add it.

Sorry Im a little confused. You said you reove the integration and the app from twitter. If this is the case, you would need to request the additional permissions, as mentioned. If you are seeing that in your system logs, then it is connecting. That message is from twitter
I've removed the app from Twitter and the integration from Invision. If I click 'Link your user account' under Twitter Promotion it throws the error. I haven't even authenticated against Twitter at this point. As I have no app in Twitter I have no way of requesting the additional permissions (as I believe those permissions are app specific?)

You need to ensure you have requested the extra permissions from twitter in order for it to work correctly. Are you also ensuring you use their legacy integration? We are not yet set up with their newer integration
Hi Marc,
I read that in another topic, but in my case I have removed the integration from invision AND the app from Twitter.
To elaborate on that, I get the error immediately on invision, i dont think it has even yet made a connection to Twitter.
-
Hi Guys,
The Twitter integration gives me the following error; EXPECTED_KEY_NOT_PRESENT.
I removed the integration to add it again and I get the same error.
How can I clear this error and set it up again?
Thanks,
Christian
